I Am Having Horrible Siatic (Spell?) Nerve Pain During Pregnancy

I had some pain with my SI nerve after my first baby was born, but now that I am pregnant again, it has really been a problem. I found a PT that specializes in womens health care and pregnancy issues, but she doesn't file any insuarnce claims, so we can't afford it out of pocket. I also had a name of a chiopractor who did this kind of thing, but after investigating his web site, I found he is really into emotional healing involving some kind of strange religous practices. Not my thing.... Does any one know of a chiopractor who just likes to do adjustments and not "emotional" healing with crystals and meditation and many many Xrays. Or a good pysical therapist who specializes in women's health care and/or pregnancy stuff AND who will also file an insurance claim. Or any other suggestions as to how I can make this better would be really apprecited. Thank you so much!

What can I do next?

I always found a good massage worked wonders. Usually it's your gluts pressing in the scaitic nerve. My massage therapist also had me put a tennis ball right at the top of your buttock where it meets your back and lay and roll around on it. I always found that worked really well for me.

My doctor directed me to lie on my left side when I laid down or slept. This seemed to help quite a bit as I was able to get comfortable.

I too have suffered from this kind of pain. I placed a tennis ball in the toe of a sock, tied a knot and then placed another tennis ball on top of that and tied it off as well. Then I placed this contraption on various areas along my spine (one ball on either side). It helped relieve pain, pressure, and muscle tightness. If your bed is firm, I'd start there then eventually moved to the floor. Good luck!!

I had a great chiropractor for just this problem, but she moved! So sorry!
One of the main things that a PT and my Chiropractor had me do was a Figure 4 stretch. It helped releive the pain to a certain extent. Here is a video:

My SIL used a DC in Lewisville, Butler was his last name. She was very impressed with him.

I had the same thing, and it got worse with each pregnancy too. I tried everything that has been mentioned...chiropractor, physical therapy, massage, even the orthopedic surgeon. Bottom line is this- the baby is sitting on your nerve, and the pain will more than likely not go away until the baby is removed from the nerve when he/ she is born. It is hurting worse this time because the nerve is already tender from having gone through this before. I had one chiro that kept "treating" me, with no result, and during my next pregnancy, thankfully, the chiro I was seeing was honest enough to explain this to me and save me all that $$! So, everything you try is just going to help bring a bit of temporary relief... make sense? Massage is good for that, and staying off your feet is really the best thing. Good luck!
