I bought some today but after reading about the recall a long time ago I'm hesitant on using them now so my question is has anyone been using or have used these recently?? Did they work??
I wasn't too impressed with them when my kids were teething. We had a lot better luck with the Colic Tablets from Hyland's. We also used ibuprofen as well.
Yes, I have used them and they are great. No side effects either.
used them for both my kids who are 4 and almost 6, and i still use them for myself when i get a cankersore. they work.
I have used them for all of my kids. I never heard of a recall either. I found out about them from my sil when my husband's niece was little. They do help a bit, but as with anything, follow the directions. I would use them as I waited for Tylenol to work as well.
I found it helped.
Frozen peas can help as mentioned but trying to get a small child to hold any kind of ice pack to a spot for more than a second is not easy.
Don't know about the tablets but something I KNOW works and is safe is frozen peas. Worked like a charm.
Homeopathy, by paraphrased definition, is watering down medication to the point that is is no longer effective. Basically, no medicine.
The answer to homeopathy is NO, it doesn't work. It's no better than a tic tac.
Oh dear, I never read about a recall. I used them years ago when my kids were babies. What was the recall due to?

I completely understand your concern. I really debated whether or not to use them as well, but in the end I did with all three of my babies, and they've really helped. I'm also in the somewhat unique position of being able to say I have used them on myself. Once my gums were hurting really badly after a dentist visit, so I figured I'd see if the teething tablets really worked. I was completely shocked at how well they helped in a matter of a minute or less, thanks to how quickly they dissolve. So, while obviously you'd want to keep a close eye on your baby after using it the first time or two in case of an allergic reaction or whatnot (as with any new medication), I wholeheartedly recommend the teething tablets because I know they really work, and the effect didn't wear off nearly as quickly as teething gel does.
My daughter put a bottle of them in my granddaughter's diaper bag. She told me how to use them. I did, sparingly. I ended up taking my granddaughter to the ER due to how they affected her. The doc read the ingredients and told me that if he ever found out I was using those again that he would detain her until the state came to put her into custody.
He was so mad he was shaking. I said my daughter had told me to use them and they read like they were safe. He said the primary ingredient is Bella Donna and if it's used even the slightest bit wrongly it is deadly.
So I'd rather use some novocaine based rub on med that will not stop a child's heart or put them in a coma.
I used these for both my kids, one is now four and the other almost one. The little guy has ten teeth already including two molars and is about to pop his canines, so needless to say he has been a very active teether and pops them out in groups. Hylands works wonderfully for him but the effects don't last very long, about 20 minutes. This is usually long enough to take his mind off the pain and get him doing something else so he can deal with it. Sometimes it's just to hold him over while Tylenol sets in. As far as I know, the main active ingredient in these, belladonna, is a very serious natural drug and should not be taken in anything but very small doses. Hylands are this very small, homeopathic dose. I am very conservative with hylands and Tylenol both but for my crazy teether they are a life saver.
