Okay well my husband just left yesterday because we have had a lot of differences yesterday. I found out while I was working he was at a meeting and left my child in the car by herself. I immediately called the police and there is nothing they can do since it happened 3 days ago. Well my 2 year old just confessed this to her grandparents and me. I chose to left because of the safety of my children. Within 2 hours he cancelled my cell phone and all the bank cards. My name wasn't on the account and it is horrible because I just started working. My check is going direct deposit and he will not give me my money. Now I am looking for a new place and trying to get stable before taking him to court for custody and child support. I have no furniture, no money just a car and our clothes and my kids furniture. I am looking for child care so I can continue to work. Can anyone help with child care, I can pay a little right now. I work 8-5 in Irving. I also will need help with furniture and house supplies can anyone sell me anything for cheap or willing to give away items. I just need some support. I do not have family here and have a 7 month old and a 2 year old both girls. If you can help or have any advice please let me know.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Okay well my HR was able to stop the check today and have it sent to my mother's house. I am looking for an apartment and will hopefully be able to move in this weekend. I still need help furnishing the place and with child care. I appreciate all the responses and everyones help. Did I mention I am a 20 year old mother. He is a 35 year old man that acts 20. I am currently having to pay 198 weekly for child care but if i could find something cheaper that would be great. Please help me or reach me by cell ###-###-####.

Check out freecycle.org. You can join the freecycle in your area and make a post for "wants" - like a couch or a twin bed, etc. People who are planning on getting rid of these items will give them to you for free. It's purpose is to match unwanted items with people who want them thus keeping stuff out of the landfill.

Tell your employer not to direct deposit the check. You can have a hard check issued.

You can find out about free legal help at Legal Aid of Dallas at ###-###-####

You might also find an avenue of support at Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home in Denton. They offer housing and other resources and help for single parents. They will likely know of an agency closer to you that can help. ###-###-####

You can also contact Christian Community Action at 972-219-HELP. They might be able to help with immediate, basic needs.

And, Irving Bible Church may not be too far. They have a single parent ministry at ###-###-####. Their general number is ###-###-####.

Hang tight, girl. Hope you can get back online and get to these posts soon.

Where are you now? Have your laptop with you? Try Hope's Door in Plano. TELL your employer so that you can get a "hard" check and not a direct deposit until you set up an account for yourself and your children. KEEP your receipts of what was deposited into the joint account so you have recourse. What grandparents did your children talk to? Your parents or his?

Follow earlier advice on the legal stuff.

Keep you chin up and think about your babies.

You need to contact an attorney immediately. They can get temporary orders done right away. He has no right to leave you without a way to support your child. It doesn't make a difference if your name is on the account or not. You are married, EVERYTHING is half yours...especially your paycheck. Eric Higgins is an attorney. He is out of Collin County but I'm sure they can give you some advice and direct you to an attorney close to you. His office number is ###-###-####. Good luck. A.
