My husband works at FedEx, and there and UPS are great jobs with excellent benefits, but it can sometimes take up to 6-8 months just to hear back from them after applying.
1-800-GO-FEDEX and listen for the job opportunities.
I would try www.craigslist.com as well.
Also, sometimes electricity companies and mortgage companies will set up a payment plan under dire situations, if you call them and tell them your situation up front.
Another great resource, is saving on food. It's expensive to supply for a family, and there is an organization that you can sign up for food for a VERY cheap price. It's good quality, and easy to do, and you don't have to fill out any qualifying paperwork to get it. It is a charity that works through many different churches, so you won't feel pressured about any of the religions, they just want to provide food for needy people.
