Hungry? - Seminole,TX

Are any of you nursing moms hungry all the time? With my first, and to a lesser extent my second, I had to almost force myself to eat. Not so much with baby 3. He's six months old and I'm eating like a pregnant lady. (I am NOT pregnant, just eating like I did when I was.)

What can I do next?

I was hungry all the time, ate anything I wanted and lost weight like crazy. It was the best weight loss plan I ever went on!

Didn't have much appetite while pregnant. I was overwhelmed by strong smells, slightly nauseous, to warm, to tired, and there was too much pressing on my innards to work up a proper appetite. When nursing however, I ate like a linebacker. All manner or manners were cast aside as I wolfed down food straight out of the fridge, out of the container, and guzzled milk from the bottle. I was a beast.

Best,

I had to force myself to eat when I was pregnant. I never gained a pound during either pregnancy. Once the baby was out, everything changed. Food was good again! Yep, lost 30 pounds when the baby was born ... gained about 50 in the next 6 months.

Yes, I was hungry all the time when I was nursing. I tried to eat healthy, but I was just so excited to be eating again.

I ate 6 meals a day while nursing, and I still lost weight! Yes, i ate like a pregnant lady. I'd even have two pieces of cake!

I just find myself eating more in general... 3 pieces of pizza instead of two for lunch yesterday... GIANT bowl of pasta salad for dinner...

And my baby barely nurses now, he has slowly shifted to preferring bottles after 6 weeks of me being back at work. He pretty much just "snacks" on me. I am not ready to give it up though because it is nice to be able to have 3 pieces of pizza and not feel the effect!

I try to eat only at 6a, 9a, 12p, 2p and 6p but it is not enough. Ridiculous.

Yes, I was starving all the time when I was nursing. I kept fruit on hand at all times to help - I craved things with a lot of water, like watermelon and grapes.

I've never been as hungry as I am when I'm nursing. I'll start to feel sick if I don't eat regularly throughout the day. Fortunately this is the only time in life you can pretty much eat whenever you want and still lose weight!

I ate a ton when nursing and still lost weight. My hair was also shedding like crazy, which I think is normal in the first few months after pregnancy. My doctor checked my thyroid levels and I was actually slightly hyper thyroid, which made sense from the way I was feeling. He rechecked my levels 2 months later and they were back to normal, I was also nursing less at that point. I wonder if the two are related?
