Call someone who cleans carpet and tell them that you have a mattress that needs to be cleaned. My father used to do that for a living. It can be done. Good Luck.

You are not alone, and the solution is easy. PetSmart has 2 products that have worked wonders for me. Stink Free is in the cat section and Petzyme is in both dog & cat areas. They are both enzymatic odor removers, and work best if you use both- Stink Free first(this stuff is amazing- it gets rid of cat urine stink, which is the hardest to eliminate, but also works on human urine smell), then Petzyme after the Stink Free has dried completely. You have to completely saturate the area & let it soak all the way down. You will still have some spots on your matress, but the urine smell will be completely gone. You can use a surface cleaner after the odor problem is gone to minimize the spots. Best of luck to you!

H., go to the Oreck store closest to you or go online and order their pet odor/stain remover. It is the only thing that has worked on my serious pet problems and does the trick for human situations, too. I promise this stuff works when nothing else does. Try pouring rubbing alcohol on the spots just so that it is a little larger than the original spot. Let it dry. It works when the spot is fresh. I used it a lot when my children were small, and it also works pretty good on carpet if the dog has an accident. Good luck-let me know if it helps. L.

Try Clorox bleach. Just dab a little on a clean cloth and rub it into the urine spot on the mattress. Let it air dry, then see if the smell is still there. If so, repeat.If you have a ceiling fan, turn it on high to help speed up the drying process. Make sure the mattress is completely dry before you put the sheets back on or your risk getting mold. I have a six year old boy who still has bedwetting accidents at night. This has worked great for me!

Zorbx is used in many hospitals and nursing homes to eliminate odors.

There is a product called Zorbx that should help you. You can buy it at Lowe's. It tamed cigarette smoke stink out of a recliner that was given to us. You can get a small trial size for a couple of bucks. They also sell a large size for around $15. It works wonders.

Baking soda/vinegar... use your judgement on the mixture. Also, back in the day, they use to move mattresses outside for sunshine.

I have seen other postings that say to put your mattress out in the sun. I know it will take the stain out but, I'm not sure if it takes the odor out, too. I hope this works out for you. I dry my cloth diapers in the sun and they seem so much fresher than when I use the dryer.

There are products out there just for this purpose - you are far from being the only one with this problem! Unfortunately I don't know the names of them (I think I've heard of one tactfuly called Urine B Gone!)- I just know of them mainly from my dad caring for my mom during a long 10 year illness and a lot of accidents on beds, chairs and wheelchairs. You can't smell a thing on any of them now. They also make these products for dealing with animal urine - I don't know if those might be any cheaper.

We would be happy to clean your mattress. We would clean and sanitize it and if necessary use a urine removal product - but hopefully that will not be necessary. The stain may be permanent but the odor should be able to be removed but either way - the mattress should be cleaned and sanitized.

Deoderizing it is just masking the problem. I bet you could look on the internet. You may find some solutions there. Also, I agree with others, call a carpet cleaning place, or mattress place and ask.

GO to the pet store and buy Simple Solution or any cleaner like it that they have. You pour it on to saturate it then blot up the excess and let it dry. The solution as bacteria in it which eat up the urine. I am a pet sitter and use these type cleaners in my house when dogs have accidents. It works very well and will take out the smell as long as you get to the source(letting it saturate deep enough).

You can actually steam clean your mattress...very carefully. You can rend a steam cleaner from Home Depot for very cheap. If you don't want to do that you could vaccum your mattress with that deodorizer and see if that helps! Good luck :)

try vinegar, maybe try to soak it, not too wet, but wet enough and see if that changes anything? of course, the vinegar might not smell too great!
or can you try warm salt water? there is a product at kroger, i think it's by the rug doctor, that's made for urine, pet urine, but i think it might work

Maybe you can call the manufacturer and see if you can take a steam cleaner to it. Or, call a mattress store and ask them how to remove urine - you probably don't have to specify your medical problems, but if they ask, you can say it was your niece/nephew. I'm sure this is more common than you think.

If you use oxi clean and hot water, saturate the stain, let it sit for 2o or 30 minutes, and then soak up any excess liquid with a junk towel. Allow to air dry. Check for smell, if it still smells, repeat process. This should break down the odor. Once it dries completely, the smell should not return. If you have rug cleaning machine with an furniture cleaning attachment, use that to suck the excess water and oxi clean out of the mattress. Oxi clean has an enzyme that breaks down natural stains.
