We have a photo editing program at home. I use that to design my own unique photo "card", using an image size of 4x6. I then upload that image to shutterfly.com and order 4x6 prints. The 4x6 prints are cheaper than the photo cards offered by various photo labs and such. I have found envelopes at Staples that are 4x6 to accommodate the photos perfectly.

You can go to staples or any office store you have in your area and purchase the type of paper you need, if you have a computer and printer at home you can create your own cards at home there are programs for this and you can go to best buy and get them or they maybe already on your computer with clip arts or photo shop is a program you can buy

I have done mine the last few years with Vista Print. I love them. Great price, the pictures look great and lots of styles to choose from.

I am very interested in doing this as well. I was going to go to Best Buy and see if there was any computer software available to create your own cards. Good luck.

Do you have a Target near you? I've found the cheapest for Christmas cards is to go to Target.com and go to the Shutterfly link. It takes you to Shutterfly.com where they have tons of card templates where you just put in the picture and words you want. Then choose to pick them up at the Target near you. Somehow by the time you go to pick them up (usually takes less than a day) it comes out to be like .14 per card which is super cheap. Good luck!

many many many sites have photo cards, and its usually pretty easy to figure out how to make them. top sites that i can think of are snapfish and vistaprint

however, whenever ordering anything online, dont forget to check places like retailmenot.com and just searching for website's name plus coupon codes. for this past Christmas, i ended up getting a total of 113 Christmas photo cards, for FREE, excepting about 8$ of shipping! :) it was awesome!!!

I always make my own using just Microsoft Word. I import the pictures I like, use borders, clip art, various fonts to make whatever design (I go to minted.com and tinyprints.com for design inspiration) and then print them on cardstock and cut with my paper cutter.

I don't know how many you buy, but we get collage prints from Wal-mart. It's about half the price of the larger photo cards (4x8 or 5x7), if you get the 4x6 (or less, if you plan ahead and don't do one-hour!). We also like the 4x6 because you can put it in a regular frame or photo album for people who like to keep their photos. It's not quite as fancy as some other cards, but we like it and have made some cute cards the past couple of years. We write a letter to send with it.

I'm sure you could use photo programs to make your own collages (I've used Digital Image from MS); but most printers would go through enough ink that it's probably more cost effective to print them elsewhere.

Also, snapfish and walmart use the same software, so you can also do this at snapfish, prepay for prints (which can be as low as 8 cents, though you still pay shipping unless you get a shipping deal) and get a really good deal! I have yet to plan that far ahead with my Christmas cards, but maybe some day . . .

Have fun:)
