Hi Moms,

I am going to be a bridesmaid for my sisters wedding in April and I'm already really nervous because I'm so insecure about the shape of my tummy after having 2 C-sections.
I still have a 4 mnth pregnant looking tummy and my youngest is already 18 mnths old. It has caused BIG insecurities in my every day life and now I'm supposed to be wearing a satin dress in front of hundreds. I'm so nervous I'm even considering telling her I can't be in the wedding.

Can anyone recommend a good (affordable) body shaper that helps suck in the tummy. I would love more than anything for a tummy tuck but not sure if I could ever afford one. Do you really notice a difference when waaring your tummy shaper and are they comfortable to wear?

Thanks in advance for all of your helpful advice!

What can I do next?

I second the previous poster...Spanx for sure!!! I was a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding 6 months after my daughter and Spanx made me feel so much more comfortable. (especially being the only one of us that has a child lol) They are great!

N.,
It is hard. Be gracious to yourself. I have two girls born by c-section and still am conscientious about it and am in prebaby sizes and all....we just were not meant to be the same I guess. I have been wearing snug undertops under shirts to help me feel better. Working out has helped but I am just now seeing that it is possible to be regular in that routine....give it time. Don't miss the wedding, obviously your sister will cherish you in her wedding no matter what you look like. I was also in a wedding and felt uncomfortable, but the problem is with me....no one else has an issue with the way I look....smile big and be yourself....be gracious to yourself.....

I have seen something like this for postpartum women in the stores, but can't remember the name, sorry. For more casual wear, I took stretchy cotton material and wrapped it around my belly right over where my jeans touched my stomach and tucked in the ends. If you can find a nice pattern/color - it looks farily stylish.

Satin is surely the most unforgiving material I've ever worn! Definitely get one of those shaper things to smooth things out. Make sure to stand straight and tall and give an air of confidence - I know it's really hard but you can do it! :) The other thing is that you will likely have a bouquet and those things are so handy to hold right where you need it. Best of luck to you!!
