If it really is just fluid, which can sometimes accumulate after swimming or even after a shower, you can try an over-the-counter water drying aid like Swim Ear. You can purchase it at most pharmacies and it works almost immediately.
I've had fluid in my ears for over a week. I've never had any sort of problem like this before. It's very bothersome and I can hardly hear. I went to the doctor and have bronchitis as well and antibiotics for that. The doctor said I could use bendryl for my ears but I would rather try something else benadryl wipes me out and being a mom I can't really be wiped out.Is there a home remedy or a trick or any sort of thing that will help my ears drain? I'm sick of saying "huh, whadda say?"
I got desperate and looked online and found some suggestions I actually tried. Putting a little rubbing alchohol in my ear, blowing up balloons. It made the problem worse for a hour and the all of a sudden it really seemed to help. The problem is pretty much gone. I've been sick so I didn't have fluid from swimming or a shower more like really awful cold symptoms.

I know how you feel, I had that in the Spring for over a month. I tried everything and it didn't work. All I can suggest is trying other things besides Benedryl.
Best of luck,

They have ear drops that I have used after gettign water in my ears, there are also wax removal kits in the same area I thinks it a product by Murine you can get it at Target or Walmart. My husband actaully has used these candles..natural remedy. You can get them at GNC or we bought them at Coborns in the natural food section, but they really work I guess.
ear candles are a great home remedy but for wax buildup only!! recommend "swimmers ear" drops. available walmart, walgreens etc. its an alcohol based solution that dries up water in the ear. recommend by many many competitive swimmers.
