How to Get Dry Erase Marker Out of Clothing?

My toddler recently got an art easel. As a result, she has gotten dry erase marker on her clothing. I assumed, since it was Crayola, that it was washable. I was wrong. I've tried using Shout and liquid Clorox for colors bleach to treat the stains. It didn't work. Does anyone know something else I could try?

What can I do next?

Hairspray gets out many kinds of ink. Spray on mark, if it runs, you're in luck.Rub then launder as usual.
Good luck!

Hi R..
Try Carbona Stain Devils. They hqave them at ACME in the laundry detergent aisle. they are little yellow bottles and they are made for specific stains, like blood, milk, make-up,and they have one for ink as well. I keep the whole colection in my laundry room and they have never not worked for me. Good luck!

These are very frustrating stains. My daughter used the dry erase markers in kindergarten and it seemed like she came home with stains everyday. Nothing I tried worked. I bought the dry erase cleaner and it lessened it a bit, but not worth buying. I asked her teacher about it and she suggested Motsenbocker's Lift Off for marker, pen and ink. She said that it worked pretty well for her, but I didn't have any luck. The stains fade out, but not totally. I've just really given up trying to remove the stains. Sorry, not much help. You can try the cleaner; I think I got it at Home Depot or Lowes.

Good luck.

I'm really not sure, but here is a thought. Maybe try using the dry erase board cleaner. It takes the "ghost" stains off dry erase boards, so maybe it would remove the color out of the clothing? I know it has very strong fumes, so I would use it outside. If nothing else works, it might be worth a try.
