If you are interested in a good school district, you can search www.greatschools.com. This may help you choose a neighborhood to start looking for a home. This helped us decide where we wanted to move.

Block 24 apartments on Arapaho and Jupiter are wonderful. We lived there for a year when we first moved to the area and loved it! We would still be there had I not gotten pregnant and had twins...we already had one son and they do not have 3BR apartments. They have apartments, lofts and duplexes. The staff and maintenance are all very nice and efficient. Your son would go to Dartmouth Elementary which is an exemplary school. My son goes there and we have loved our experience.

There are quite a few real estate and apartment booklets in the stores of the area you're targeting. I always start with these to get an idea of the prices in the area and then use a map to help me navigate around while I look for complexes with vacancies or for sale/for lease houses.

H. it helps and good luck.

We have a house for sale in Plano, very close to the elementary school. I don't know if it is more than you need or what you are looking for.

Terri Hayley would be an excellent resource. She is a realtor and very familiar with the area. She also specializes in working with people who have relocated from other states. Her number is ###-###-####

There are cute little homes in Richardson Heights. It is located West of 75, south of Beltline and East of the creek. Some homes are as small as 1300 sq ft. But there are bigger homes too. You would use Heights Elementary - not exemplary but people like it.
There are also homes in the "D" streets that are small and less expensive. This area is along Dumont west of Waterview. Around Cottonwood Park. You can use Dover Elementary (majority Spanish-speaking) or Arapaho Classical Magnet (more diverse than Dover).
The only single folks I know in Richardson live in Richardson Heights, however there is another world on the east side of 75. My realtor is Rick/Shelly McCall if you need help. ###-###-####. Experts on Richardson and low key.
Since you are from CA you will enjoy our trees. Here's my tip: make sure you pick an area where families with kids are moving in so your son has other children to play with. Just knock on some doors and ask...welcome to Richardson!

Hi L. - I'm sending this a little late but I'm sure you've gotten a zillion messages from realtors. Well, here's one more. First, decide if you want to rent or buy. Then if you decide to buy, go so someone at the bank or a mortgage company about a loan. If you can't get a loan, you'll have to rent. A good place to start is craiglist.com. They have lots of rentals in the area. Good luck and let me know if I can help.

I would like to give you a referral. My friend is a realtor (buyer’s agent) with Goldman Briggs in Plano. She is an experienced professional real estate agent and an overall nice person. She is patient and informative. The best part about her service is that her commission is paid by the seller or builder. She technically works for you for FREE. She does not get paid until closing. What do you have to lose? Give her a call at ###-###-####. Thank you. Her name is Laura.

I am a licensed Real Estate Agent, but stay home with my kids, I have lots of references that I could pass along to you if you would like some help. I have a couple of friends who live in the Richardson Heights area. There are also some nice homes in Lake Highlands or my East Dallas neighborhood. If I can put you in touch with anyone or if you would like to talk about the area, I'd be happy to help. My office has a great group of people who could help you.

If you want to message me privately, I have lived in Richardson for most of my life. My husband has also (although he grew up in a different part than me). I would be happy to let you know some neighborhoods to look in depending on what you are looking for. You can go to ebby.com to look at houses listed for sale in Richardson.
