We live in West Plano and love it here. Although my son is too young for the elementary here, I have heard that our school (Saigling Elem.) is good. FYI, most of Plano has soil issues that causes consistent foundation issues, even after foundation repairs. Make sure to check out the house and neighborhood for foundation issues prior to buying it. If you don't have a mortgage company already, my husband is in the mortgage business and is very honest and patient. Just email me back if you want his information.

i think u need to consider three things when u want to buy a home.
1)community-which builder,schools,neighbours etc
2)with in what range of price u are looking
3)how many years old built or new construction
we looked for a home not than 5 yrs old as the new constructions were not in our budget of investments so we found a home in plano but schools are frisco ISD with exemplary rated.Plano homes were all 8 - 10 yrs old.hope this would help or mail me for furhter chat on ____@____.com

I vote with Tami. I have an Allen address and we are in Plano school district (Suncreek). My daughter went to Beverly (Blue Ribbon) and highest honors from K-5 and continuing. I also substitute a LOT at Beverly and the staff is fantastic. Mrs. Kirby runs a great school. I am proud to say my child went there and I am proud to substitute at that school only.

Also, many parents who have children moving on to middle school are nervous, of course and with reason, about the change. My daughter had the best year of school ever at Hendrick Middle and I firmly believe she was well prepped in elementary to make this transition.

We enjoy our neighborhood and maybe you can come through to see what might be available here that would fit your criteria. We personally have had no soil issues and we also have next door neighbors with basements who have not had major issues as well.

I have a home that is on the cusp of Allen/Plano (in city of Allen) but feeds into Plano Schools - the elementary school is in the neighborhood (Beverly) and is a Blue Ribbon school. We have a community pool (voted best in Allen)and park in the neighborhood as well. I would love to show it to you!
