How Much Would You Pay????? Plz Help

I reccomend southwest.com, I recently got a round trip flight for less than $160. I don't have any advice about the babysitting, I have never had to hire one yet, sorry.

I guess I am going to come at this from a different angle, I think a 20 year old is too young to handle a week with kids your kids ages. At 20 years old, although most are starting to mature, unless she is like a supermom, I think you are better off hiring someone a little bit older. Also because her parents aren't right around the corner too, in case of a true emergency. Especially if you plan to leave the state. It's alot of responsibility. Does she have younger siblings? that says alot about someone, if they have had younger siblings.
Alot of sitter/nanny services have people who specialize in this stuff.

Make sure you have a legal signed & Notarized document stating that she is able to seek medical care for your kids in your absence.

Stock the frig full of things to eat, pre-made or simple meals frozen may also be a good option for you too.

I care for children in my home and I get 60 dollars per day for 2 little girls that stay when their parents leave town. That is incredibly LOW. I offered them that rate when they had been advertising for a nanny to come to their home. They was going to pay 500 for 5 days + money for activities. I enjoy the extra money, so I don't mind offering such a good rate. I would say that even though this is family, you shouldn't offer less than what I'm getting. It doesn't matter what you are paying for the airline ticket to your house. That's just part of it.

Have you checked to see if you have any 24 hour caregivers in your area that are experienced and with references? It would save you the airline tickets.

Start at $500. If she won't do it, go up to $1,000 but she can not bring a friend or boyfriend.

I second what Lucky said. I'd go by your local licensed preschool does.

$500. That's what I paid my nanny per week when we had her, and she watched my 4 year old and 2 year old (he was 18m-2 at the time). The 4 year old went to a 1/2 day preschool twice a week as well. That was also a pretty good deal, since most nanny care per week is more than that or hourly. She may ask for more though since she won't be leaving every evening but staying around the clock! Hopefully since she's family that will help you out!

$80 a day, and leave your credit card for her to go grocery shopping (you must pay for her food).

I go by my daycare for our 5 year old and 3 year old. $240 a week and she is a licensed pre-school. You could round it up to $300 plus cash for incidentals.

I think 150/day and then give her a little money for extras like pizza's or taking the kids ice- skating etc. Make sure the fridge is well stocked with food or leave a credit card for her to get items.

Assuming she's responsibe enough to handle the kids I'd give her about $100 dollars a day. Since they're not in school it's more work for her.

I have to 2nd offering $500 to see if she'll take it. Getting a pro to do it would be double that in most areas and triple to 4x in mine.

twenty years ago when *I* did such a job I made $500 for the week plus spending money for the fun things to do with the kids (about $20 a day, enough to do 3 fun things in the week and order pizza) for those age kids. So, since it's 20 yrs later, it has to be more then $500 for the week.
