I was just wondering how many hours of sleep a three year old should be getting during the day total (including nap and during the night)?

What can I do next?

I was wondering the same thing! My son is almost 3 and RARELY naps, he just won't sleep. He goes to bed at 8:30 and gets up at 6:30. I know he does not always get enough sleep, but the daycare says they can almost never get him to nap, and I can't really blame them, because I can't get him to nap on the weekend either :)

when mine was 3, it was 14 hours, give or take a half hour. He was an incredibly active kid though.

My daughter will be four in July and she has given up naps, as much as I wish she'd take one! I'd struggle with her for up to a couple of hours and then she'd sleep for an hour. It just wasn't worth it so we stopped pushing it. She goes to bed about 9 and sleeps until 8 to 8:30.

My 2.5 year old takes a 1 to 1.5 hour nap each day then sleeps for 10-11 hours each night. On average, she sleeps a total of 11 hours in a 24 hour period.

Well, my son will be 4 in June, but he's had the same sleep routine for the entire year. =0) He sleeps 11 hours at night and will take about a 1-2hr nap at daycare each day. So, he gets a total of about 13 hours give or take.

make sure she/he is napping 12 hours from the time she/he is getting the bulk of the night-time sleep.

At 3 my kiddo slept 11-12 at night, and then had a 2 hour nap.

At nearly 8 he still sleeps about 12 at night. (From 9pm to 9am)
