I agree with the other posters, that cheese will bung you right up if you eat too much =) I would try to get her on something less processed than Kraft Singles. there is a ton of additives and a ton of sodium in those things. Maybe try those fun shaped chesse things from 'black diamond'
Good Luck

She's not eating cheese. Stop giving it to her and give her some real food: fruits, veggies, whole grain and actual dairy products like yogurt.

I know how tempting and easy it is to feed babies what they like, but WE need to decide the quality of food our children eat....not them!

My older two would survive on cheetoes if I let them, but I don't because it's not healthy (and quite gross, actually).

Although I'm certainly not opposed to Kraft singes and have eaten (and fed my children) my fair share, I would try and get her onto some real cheese. Maybe see if you can get her to do some string cheese or Sargento makes some good cheese sticks in different flavors, cheese cubes, something that is actually real cheese! ;)

Other than that, there really isn't a huge issue with giving her a lot of it. It can make her consitpated, so watch out for that, but it's a good source of calcium. Since she's only 16 mos, it's likely a phase that will eventually go away and turn into something else. Keep offering her other healthy things like fruits, veggies and maybe even cottage cheese, but don't worry about her overloading just yet, I'm sure her tastes will wax and wane!

She will only eat it, if it is available to her.

My son, would eat bacon 24 hours a day, if I let him or bought it everyday.
He loves bacon.
So I sometimes, buy the organic type without any chemicals or preservatives in it, from Whole Foods.
But then I generally do not buy bacon.
He does not miss it, if we don't have it IN the house. And I will not go to the store just to buy that.

They will eat what is bought and made available, to them.
Or not.

Then again, food phases do occur. Next month, your baby may not even like cheese. Who knows.

Try offering her other cheeses, or real cheeses. ie: "Laughing Cow" cheeses, or Babybel cheeses. Or just the kind you get from a deli.
Not processed cheesed.

The way to know is to factor in other foods. You don't want to have the cheese take the place of other nutritious foods. Keep her meals balanced.

Also, keep in mind that cheese can be constipating.

Sorry to say, Laughing Cow is also a processed cheese. I agree to give her cheese that is 100% cheese instead of the processed stuff which does contain sodium and chemicals.

American cheese slices are high in calories and fat. I wouldn't let her have more than 2 slices per day. Have you ever had her try white American or Farmer's cheese?

Part of her addiction may be that you are giving her procesed cheese. It isn't healthy. Try giving her regular cheese and see if she reacts the same. If she does, just know that it is a constipant and it high in calories/fat.

Good luck.

I agree that the kraft cheese is not too healthy for her. The sargento cheese sticks are really tasty. My kids and i also love fresh mozzarella and munster cheese. Well, they like every cheese in a block from colby jack to sharp chedder. I would go more with the real cheeses. She will love them. Start with a mild one first maybe.

Stop feeding her Kraft SIngles. Don't you know there are real cheeses made without additives and extenders. Read ingredients. Tillamook is a normal cheese made without stretchers and other non food items. Go to the health food store and see what is being sold as cheese.
I raised my children as vegetarians. We ate lots of cheese from Rogue Valley a brand which was totally natural.
I later on switched to cheese that was organically made once we could find it.
Whole Foods is NOT a real health food store. They carry GMO products and foods that are not organic.
In Seattle you can find real organic stores.

My daughter was addicted to dairy because she was not digesting it properly, the undigested proteins or peptides have a drug like effect.
Does she seem dazed when she eats it?
Craving a food can mean there is an allergy to it also.
Digestive enzymes may help with non anyphylactic allergy (sensitivity).
DPP IV digestive enzymes helped my daughter with the digestion/peptide issue.
