A similar question was asked yesterday and there are some good answers.

I suppose it depends on what and how much the child is drinking and bladder development.
How many times a day does a 5 year old pee? Was a little worried my daughter might be going too often. My mom watches her while I work and she has mentioned she thought she goes a lot too. My husband thinks I'm worrying about nothing. What is normal?
For example my mom watched her for 3 hours the other day and my daughter went 4 times. Is that a lot or normal?

I think everybody is different.
I had to go a ton as a kid and still do while my SD never has to go.
Husb, son & I all go have to go alot.
Does she drink a lot of water?
I would say it's normal.
It's normal to go however often she goes. As others have said, each child is different. How often she goes depends on the size of her bladder how much liquid and foods she eats. Food also contains water. Whether or not she's anxious. If she's liking to go often. Remember going potty can be fun if it's something new.
If she's not complaining of pain or itchiness, I'd stop keeping track.
I am going through something similar right now with my 6 year old son. His teacher is concerned because he will go to the bathroom anywhere between 9 and 13 times during the 6 hours he's in school (and it's not to get out of doing something because he will miss parts of lunch and gym and recess, which kids do NOT want to miss!). We know he goes a lot at home, but here he does have a cup of water that he can sip from all day so I just assumed he was drinking a lot. But since he doesn't bring a water bottle to school and he's still going frequently, I could rule out his drinking too much. I asked him if he had any pain or discomfort when going (to gauge whether it might be an infection) and he said no. I looked into the warning signs of diabetes, but the ONLY symptom he's exhibiting is the frequent urination, so I am not too concerned about that being the cause. So we made an appointment with his primary doctor, who did not find anything "wrong" with him, so he referred us to a specialist. (WARNING - might get a little gross here...)
This urologist determined that his bowels are backed up, which is putting pressure on his bladder, making him feel like he has to go all the time. While we have plenty of fruits and veggies available to eat each day, and my kids drink a green smoothie every day, it sort of makes sense that this could be an issue when I think about it. His favorite foods are pancakes or bagels for breakfast, cheese and crackers for snack, and pizza whenever he can get it. So his favorite foods are very binding. And kids don't want to sit on the toilet to make sure they're "done", they want to get back to playing! So we are now in the process of using some "laxatives" to help clear him out. I can't say this will be the end of his issue, but I sure hope so! I also wonder if our making such a big deal out of how often he goes is making him "stress" about it, which just makes it worse.
So like the other respondents have mentioned, it could be one of many things. It's just so hard to tell what the cause is! But you should definitely take her to the doctor to have her checked out if you are concerned there might be a medical reason for it.
I have another friend who is going through this right now with her son, too. It always makes me wonder if there's a larger cause when all of a sudden these issues start popping up. Maybe a result of the GMO's now in so many of our foods, or a new chemical that's added to our water supply to keep it "clean", etc. I'll be interested to see if this issue becomes more and more common...
Good luck!
It could be normal. However, in conjunction with your other question about her rubbing her privates because it feels good (also normal on its own) - you might want to inquire whether it's itchy or uncomfortable down there. Maybe there's an infection of some sort. If so, it's probably easily treatable.
Could be many reasons. She is drinking a lot, she is bored, she is anxious, she has a UTI, etc.. Or could be nothing. She sounds like she is going about every 45 minutes?
Everyone is different, some of it is bladder size, then add on how much they drink. Are they peeing at the first tingle or do they hold it for a while.
My 3 year old pee's all the time. I think she can hold it longer but goes as soon as she 'feels' it. My 6 year old holds it till the last possible second.
There really is no normal when it comes to that.
If she has no burning sensation which might make a parent think UTI. I would just chalk it up to a child how likes to go, when the urge hits and not a child who will wait it out.
Maybe she drinks to much caffeine or water. If you lower that and she still goes a lot (like my friend)your daughter might have diabetes. Not to scare you.
Yes. Everybody is different.
This will vary per individual.
It depends on her bladder capacity, how active she is, how much she drinks, etc.
It can also depend on some health issues - diabetes, UTIs, etc.
4 times over 3 hours seems like a lot.
You might want to monitor what she drinks and how often she goes and ask her if she has any pain or itching when she uses the bathroom.
Since bubble bath can be an irritant, avoid using it in her bath for awhile.
Bring it up at her next check-up.
It could be she's totally normal for her but a urine test that comes back normal will help you not to worry.
when my daughter (then 9) went to a kidney doctor he said every person should go no less then every 2 hours. So she should have gone at least 2 times in that visit.
In 3 hours I personally usually go about 6 times. I have always had to pee more often then others.
