It takes a long time! I stopped bfing my son over a year ago and I still have milk that comes out when I press on my nipples.
It has almost been a year since I stopped nursing, and a few times during the past year, I have had milk come out of one of my breasts and it happened again last night!! Just wondering how long it took for your milk to dry up completely?!?! And I know I am not pregnant :) Thanks!!!
Thanks for all the reassurance ladies!!! I was beginning to wonder what the heck, but now I know it's normal!!

After my kids (whom I did not breast feed) it took a FULL 6 MONTHS before absolutely nothing would be extracted from my breasts if I squeezed them hard after a shower (that was always my testing time because the warm water of a shower would make it drop or release any milk so if nothing came out after all ofthat then I knew I was good).
It took over a year for me with my 3rd - I nursed her for 2 1/2 years - and I would still have random "let down" for a long time after - once in front of a class I was teaching... with a solid dark colored shirt on...
My dr. told me it would eventually stop - it did.
lol myu son is four and i can still squezze some milk out. and every blue moon i get that feeling that youget when your milk falls! my doc told me one of his patients has a 8 year old and still has milk. guess it takes a long time woth some ppl.
Ya, I quit breast feeding 9 months ago and still have milk -----my mom had it for 2 years after having me!
When I had a mammogram two years after I stopped BFing I hit the wall!! LOL!! Embarrassing, but she just laughed. I had the "let down" sensation at the sound of an infant crying for at least a few more years. I still get it every now and again now and she turned 8 yesterday!
Nursed my 2nd for 1 year and did not completly dry up for 3 years. I would rather still be producing, cause now when it's that time of the month, my breasts hurt so bad!
I am right with ya!!! I asked my OB at my last check up and she said it could take years and is completly normal...
lol, when you find out, let me know! i got pregnant with my son a year and a half after i quit nursing my daughter and still had milk. now, my son quit nursing about 8 months ago and i still have some milk too! lol.
