Hi Trish,
My son just turned 1 two weeks ago and I am currently doing the switch from formula to milk. I started with 3/4 formula(Enfamil Step 2) mixed with 1/4 milk in a bottle and am now giving him 3/4 milk mixed with 1/4 formula. I have tried giving it to him in the sippy cup but he just takes sips and then spits it out all over his lip and t shirt and thinks its funny. Therefore, I still have to give it to him in a bottle so that he gets the nutrition. By the end of the month we will be on milk only. He does not like it cold so I have to warm it for 10 seconds before giving it to him. I give him 3 full bottles a day-morning,lunch,dinner. On top of this, he eats only solids now. He has 4 teeth(2 on top,2 on bottom) so I am still careful of what I give him but still, there are so many options. I have stopped giving him packaged and canned baby foods for over 3 months now. Those Stage 3 foods are atrocious.
Macaroni is good(you can cut it up in smaller pieces),any type of pasta and sauce, sandwich deli meat, sliced cheese, any veggie(you can give her the canned and cut it up or steam natural veggies and mash or cut up),omelettes, ground beef...even the kid cuisines in the frozen food section are good. The chicken nugget meal is his favorite and I just cut them up into tiny little pieces. They are very soft and not crunchy. These meals come with corn and macaroni. He usually eats about half and I save the rest for later. He makes a mess with the sippy cup so I give him milk or water in a regular cup and hold the cup while he drinks from it. This and the bottle are the only way to get him to swallow. I don't know why, but he likes to let the milk or water dribble out his mouth when he uses the sippy cup. I'm not sure how to break him of this habit and infact, I may post a question concerning this.
Good luck in feeding your baby girl. Don't be afraid to give her what you eat. Pretty much everything you eat can be cut up and easily chewed with their few teeth and gums. They make this microwaveable macaroni now that is perfect for babies. I usually throw in some peas with it. Gerber Graduates mini raviolies are good too.
Also, you can make her little bitty sandwich bites that she can feed herself. Just thinly layer a slice of bread with mayo, thin turkey, and amercian cheese and cut into little squares. Put them in a bowl or on a plate and she can feed herself. Of course, there will be plenty of mess to pick up off the ground but its a great way to teach her to self feed. You can do the same thing with sliced canned carrots, cut up chicken nuggets, and sliced cheese. Just be sure to always supervise because they sometimes get overzealous and put more in their mouth than they can handle. Oh, packaged mandarin slices are great too! Good Eats is a great restaurant to take your baby because they can eat pretty much anything on that menu. I usually order the meatloaf with a side of carrots and mashed potatoes and I split it with him. Celebrity Cafe has great Kid's Plates too. The 2 best are the turkey plate(sliced turkey and american cheese) and the grilled cheese plate. They both come with a fruit bowl.
Wendy's all white meat chicken nuggets are great too.
My son hates green beans so I usually mix them in with mashed potatoes to get him to eat them. He LOVES the frozen brocoli and cheese dinners.
Think of it this way: whenever you are eating, think to yourself,"how can I make this edible for my little girl?". She is ready to eat pretty much anything that u eat ( as long as its not tough or a choking hazard). Expirement! Don't be afraid. :0)
