How Far Is the Drive to Your Preschool?

I currently have my son attending a preschool that is 5 minutes from our house, SO close, which is why I chose the school in the first place. I am not satisfied with what they have to offer, so for next year, I have been researching schools for him to go to. I am interested in finding a school that will really prepare my son for Kindergarten and have heard wonderful things about a preschool that is about 15-20 minutes away from me. Do you think it's too far of a drive to go back and forth Mon-Fri, 9AM-Noon with his 2 younger siblings in the car with me? I'd love your advice!

What can I do next?

It is not too far unless your kids are restless from the ride. I drive 10 minutes to drop off one and another 15-20 to drop off the other. It is important to find the right fit. I am presently looking into schools for my son age 4 and none are less than 25 minutes away. Good Luck!

I don't think its too far at all. Bad weather might be another story, especially hauling the younger children too.

I know Grace Assembly on Route 23 is good as well as Zion Church over on 724. I would look into them both if you haven't already.

Take care and good luck!

I live in Downingtown and my daughter goes to school in Exton. It's about a 15-20 minute drive. I have a nearly 2 year old and I'm due in May with #3. I'm one of those mom's who's pretty into schedules, and I guess that's why my kids are, too. The pick up time is around 12:30, so it's been hard getting my youngest on a schedule. She kept falling asleep on the way to pick up my oldest and I hated to wake her to go in and pick up. Sometimes it would mess up her pm nap altogether. She's old enough now, that she can wait and nap when we get home. All that said, I love the school she goes to, so it's been worth it. There's nowhere that I'd send her that's closer to my house. And I remind myself that time passes quickly and so the nap thing is only an issue for so long. The drive itself doesn't bother me. Good luck!

Hi A.- Personally I would do the same if it meant the right school. If you would be using that time to be out running errands, etc. it may not have much of an impact. I have a question for you though! Would you mind sharing the schools you reference? I am starting to researching schools for my 14 month old for when she turns 2. I don't know much about the schools in Phoenixville and would like to hear any feedback you have. TIA!!!
