I foud out im PG around Dec. 15 or so. Im not sure how far along I am since my cycle has been really out of wack since Sept. I got my period late in sept. and it lasted for 2 weeks and was very heavy. I went to the doc and they did an ultrasound and a PG test, both neg. They thought I had an early miscarriage. (I still have no answers to why so much bleeding) I did not get a period in Oct. I took many tests within two weeks, all negative. I then got a period around Nov. 10 (im not sure on the date) It lasted for 2 days and wasnt very heavy. When I didnt get it by then in Dec. I took a test and it was positive. I was on the pill this whole time. Im guessing im 6 weeks, but I really dont know. I have not gone to the doctor yet, since I need to get on insurance first.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Both my employer and my hubbys dont offer insurance. I was on medica for 4 years and they covered my other 2 pregnancies. I was taken off in Nov due to making to much. Then I find out im PG! what timing...I am on wic also.

I may not have made myself clear enough. I am not keeping it from insurance, its just a huge thing to actually get back on it. I takes a long time and can be very confusing. My financial worker knows im pg and i have the forms. I need to get a proof of pregnancy form done b4 I can get back on and inorder to do that I need to go to the doctor, which i cant afford without insurance. Keep in mind this pregnancy was a shock and we were not expecting it.

I don't know about medica because I've never dealt with it.. but I know that medical assistance in my area will cover prior bills. So if you have to go to a doctor to confirm pregnancy they will likely cover that once you're on the insurance. Otherwise you can talk to the business office and they will work with you with payments according to your income. I know that when I found out I was pregnant with my son and was at my first appointment they still offered to check my eligibility for assistance despite the fact that I had insurance.

Most places are always willing to work with you! Just ask what you should expect when it comes to the medical bills until you recieve medica and I'm sure they'll be able to fill in the gaps for you. Your social worker might be able to help you on that one too.

Good luck! It does sound like you'd probably be between 6-8 weeks, but there's no telling really since the early start was kind of strange.

I would guess 6 weeks too. But, as soon as you can get your insurance & go to the doctor, they will be able to tell you how far along by measuring the baby.

Btw, don't know your situation, but if you won't be getting insurance through an employer, I'd recommend looking into medicaid for pregnancy. I had that when I was pregnant, and also was on WIC until I was able to get a better job.

Congratulations!! :)

The ultrasound will be able to show how far along in development the baby is when you have it done. There's really no way to tell based upon what you've provided when you conceived as it's possible to continue to have periods even after becoming pregnant (not common, but it is possible).

I'd be careful in trying to keep it from the insurance company. It can be considered fraud which could open pandora's box.
Good luck! I hope your pregnancy goes well.

There should be free clinics for you to go and see as well as get an ultrasound. I would certainly start taking your prenatal vitamins, walmart and target both sell them over the counter.

I would say that the 2 day bleeding around Nov 10th was implantation bleeding which is where you would start counting from. Which looks correct, I just counted on the calendar myself. You know, if I had to guess, back in September you probably did have a miscarriage, I guess you will never really know but that may be what happened. You know, I recently read that foods that contain soy can really mess a womans cycle up, my period came 10 days early last month (very light but the length of a normal period) and then I got my regular period right on time after that! I had been eating lots of soy all through that month, which is not normal for me. Anyway just throwing those things out there, congratulations on your pregnancy!!

remember you can go to the doctor now and still get covered for the appointment. They go back as far as three month of past bills once you get on State insurance. I would go in! I would say you are probably not much more then 6 weeks but it is hard to tell with irregular cycles

You can go to planned parenthood, and some other free pregnancy crisis centers that have a ultrasound machine and tech on hand as well as help getting you back on Medica.

I did this with my first daughter. I didn't have insurance and was able to get an ultrasound etc. done for free.
