For sports games I just 1/8th them up into "smilees" the night before and leave them in a ziplock bag sealed. I also bring another bag for the peels, and baby wipes for hands.
Don't laugh... this is actually a serious questions.
I feel stupid asking, but I never peel an orange unless I'm about to eat it.
I am supposed to bring oranges as snacks for my son's preschool class tomorrow.
Can I peel the oranges this afternoon or evening and refrigerate them?
Will they still look/taste good?
Or do I need to wait until the morning to peel them?
(Not looking forward to getting 2 kids ready for preschool and peeling 12 oranges in the morning).
Thanks! :-)

If you do need to peel to prevent a messy situation in class--most prefer it. Peel them and place in an airtight container or bag. As long as air cannot get to them, they should be fine. And refrigerate.
Yep--cut them into wedges. They'll keep much better and you can do it the night before.
we always cut them into wedges (I called them orange smiles lol) the kids like them cause they can hold the little bit of peel that is left on them to eat them. You could cut them that way tonight.

There is a difference between peeling and cutting into wedges. Wedges don't usually have an issue, but peeled oranges can get a little dry and the pith (is that the word?) can get hard and tough. You may want to peel and put them in water or with a wet paper towel to keep them moist.
