My young son did some "artwork" on my LCD TV with crayons. How do I remove the crayon marks without damaging the screen?

What can I do next?

I keep screen cleaner for my computer, TV and phone on hand - it's available in office supply stores. Usually it's sold with a special cloth but if you use something you have at home, you want something lint-free.

You can also google it. I found several links, and here's one: http://cleaning.tips.net/T007148_Cleaning_Crayon_Marks_Of...

I know hand sanitizer will take ink off of screens. When I worked at Penney's we often had customers use a regular ink pen instead of the stylist to sign the pad (not paper) for credit/debit card payments.

But before you do anything I would contact the customer service department for the TV you bought. They should have a website where you can either email them or an 800 number you can call. The page shpuld also tell you the hours customer service is available. If you email them you may not get an answer until Monday. There is a chance no one is working over the weekend.

Wd 40 on a soft cloth. Rub gently and it'll come right off.

Try a little WD-40.
That's what the crayon manufacturers recommend.

I always clean our screens with Windex.

Hand sanitizer has worked in a pinch on my board at school.

I wouldn't use a magic eraser as suggested by pp. That's actually very super fine grit abrasive so it will mess with the finish on the screen... you'd still be able to watch tv... but when it's off you'll notice where you scrubbed.

I used soap and water and a gentle scrubber. Don't push hard. The soap will help with the wax in the crayons and the scrubber will cause some grooves in the wax so the soap will work better.

Do a small section first and see how it works.

Mr. Clean magic eraser should work and won't scratch.
