I have a girl that I really like and she has come to watch my girls several times but it is always when I am here doing some work on my computer or chores around the house. They do fine and play with her and she is very sweet...I just cannot make myself leave!! I am a worrywart and worry that they wont be ok if I am gone, or what if something happens or worse what if she is different with them when I am not here?!? I need the Momma time but have not ever left them alone with ANYONE other than my husband or my mom...please help! I need advice, support etc! Thanks!

What can I do next?

Try starting to leave them for very short periods, or only when they are asleep at first. Maybe go and get lunch when they nap or grab a drink with DH after bedtime. That way, you are starting to leave them with her, but the risk is minimal. Then slowly start working. Perhaps just leave them while you grocery shop or something for short periods through the day. I understand how you feel. I am the same way. I have only left my baby with a sitter when he sleeps.

I TOTALLY understand!!!!!!!! It's the same with me. You
could try a nanny cam.

Well... its hard... i know. i have an 8 month old and i left him over night with grandma (my hunnies mom not mine) and well.. i cried the entire way home. When i got home though... i called to say goodnight to my booger heard him slobber on the phone... reminded my mother in law that he needs a diaper change-- then laid down on the sofa! the rest was great!!! i didnt have to get up to check on him or feed him... i know 8 months is young but i think we still need "our" time.. it will be hard but the alone time with your other half or friends just to relax is great! you will feel selfish!! trust me.. but just relax and make sure you feel 100% comfortable before you leave your little one... otherwise you will be worried about your babies! Good Luck!!!

My son was 2-1/2 months old when I returned to work so he had to go to daycare. The first day I left him, I cried all the way to work. It was the longest day and it took every ounce of willpower not to call the daycare every hour to check on him. After work, I couldn't get to the daycare fast enough and when I finally did get there, he was just fine! He'd had a good day and he ate well and napped well and did just fine without me. Ever since then I haven't had a problem leaving him at daycare. Some days I miss him more than others but coming home to him after work and seeing that smile makes every day special. I'm sure you'll find your experience to be similar. You'll be just fine and so will your girls!

Well my daugher just got into the ppcd program a few weeks ago and this is the first time Ive left her somewhere besides my mom her dad or grandmas. I was so so worried about her and her missing me too much to focus and enjoy her time at school. Well she did perfect the first week and cried but only a little the next week. I think I was more worried for her than she was for herself. I think this kinda happens for all moms. You just cant part with the fact they can have a good time with someone other than you and not fall apart. The inital fear is the worst but once you go through it then its kinda gone and then the proud feeling of your child kicks in. Good luck and I hope the best for you. It only seems hard at first and then your a pro in no time as well as your child.
