You can also delete the random junk that your computer stores - like temporary files that make your computer load websites faster, that sort of thing. If you are using Windows, go to "Start," then "All Programs," then "Accessories," then "System Tools" One of the options is "Disc Cleanup." Clicking on this will scan everything on your computer (not just internet related stuff) - depending on how much you have on there, it could take a while. It will then bring up a list of everything it recommends you can safely delete permanently, divided into categories - like temporary internet files, your recycle bin, that sort of thing. You will have to give it permission to actually do the delete. We try to do it every four or five months.
cookies or history can be found at your browser... click internet explorer or mozilla or chrome look for the options button and you will see the delete cookies history etc... you can delete programs you do not use....
Google your OS (operating System... probably microsoft something) and "clear cookies" and "defragment". I am on a Linux box as my husband likes to code so I have no clue how to care for anything mircosoft past 98.
also if you use something other than Explorer, like firefox, you will need to google that too.
The ladies told you good info on how to make it go faster. Also delete any programs you arent using, and uninstall them.
Also, instead of internet explorer web page, try Google Chrome. Sooooo much faster!
