E.M.
I was cooking up a storm. I think I made 6 casseroles in a day,8 pies and baked 3 loaves of bread. I was a cooking fool!
How did you feel the day before you went into labor? For example were you more tired or more active? Was baby more or less active? Did you notice feeling any different? Just wondering if people have similar experiences.

No difference at all. Had a doc appointment at 2pm and I was 1.5cm dialated/100% effaced. Got into bed - squirt of amniotic fluid around 10pm.
With my first I was restless and couldn't get comfortable. With my second I was sick (physically). I wasn't allowed to go into labor with the rest due to c-section issues.
Physically I didn't feel a difference.
Mentally I was feeling, "Get this kid out of me!"
With my 1st and 3rd I was induced, so I was a crazy lady packing my things and getting ready and trying to rest!!
With my second, it was pretty late at night, and I couldn't sleep. I was 3 days overdue. I tossed and turning and bitched and moaned because I was so big and uncomfortable and flat out could NOT sleep. I called my doctor to whine about it... he said 'R., you're in labor, get your butt in here'... I was like 'No, I really just need to get some sleep'... he was like 'GET IN HERE RIGHT NOW!!'... I got to the hospital at 3am and my daughter was born just before 6am. Close call ;)
So I'd say, with the one spontaneous labor, I was RESTLESS more than anything! The rest of the previous day had been totally normal!
Nothing out of the ordinary for me with either pregnancy. Both pregnancies I had a slight bloody discharge, and some light cramping. With my second I thought I was in labor a few times, I felt like a fool, almost went to the hospital too. So beginning stages of labor for me were confusing, and not really that different from how I felt altogether at the end CRAPPY!! and couldn't wait to give birth lol!! The bloody show was my tell tale sign!! Good luck!!
Saw the doctor the day before and was at 0 cm and I said I'll be back tomorrow since it's MY DUE DATE and you're on call.
Sure enough I went into labor at 3:00 am, went in around 4 pm at 5 cm and had him before 11 pm. I like to keep my life in line. LOL. I think because I REALLY wanted MY DOCTOR to deliver out son my body decided to cooperate (for once.) :)
With my last pregnancy... ummm, well, the day before I went into labor I felt the same as I had for a couple months. I felt huge, miserable, sore, swollen, anxious, excited, and sooo ready to have my body back.
I had been on bedrest with twins for 9 weeks and had gained 75 pounds.
With my first and third: It was not a matter of the day before. My first I ended up going into Labor before thirty weeks. If my memory serves me I was about 27 weeks. they stopped it. I spent four Long and horrible days in the Hospital. I went nuts. Only to be sent home and put on bed rest.
I ended up being induced a week and a half early. Taking two full days to induce from start to finish.
My Third. I was in Labor for three weeks beofre actually having him. My body was dilating.....Just not fast. at all. 11 times I went in have regular contractions. They saw me in Labor but knew it was not making any progress come along....And I had told them I did not want to be induced that soon.
My doctor was nice enough at my Last regular appt to lend me some help. I went in on a Friday for my check up. she told me she would be working the shifts Saturday. She PROMISED ME if I came in having regular contractions she would go ahead and plug me into some Pit. Ah...You had better believe my best friend and I went on a mega march Saturday morning. And by two pm I was having rip roaring contractions. Gave birth to my wonder at 11:23 pm that night.
My second kiddo, Was born on his due date. I had no clue I was even close to Labor. I woke up on the 19th on Jan 2007.....Got myself, my oldest and my hubby ready and out the door....I had lost a giant chunk of my mucus plug at 6 am that morning...but was only feeling BH contractions(which was normal for me in the Pregnancy)and thought nothing of it. I got to the doctor's office and I started having trouble standing. I get back into the room. She takes one look at me and goes....''Libby, how is it possible you re still standing on your own? you are in full pledge Labor?!?''
Point being....The one time I was in Labor I had to clue...I was totally oblivious to what my body was telling me....When you know you know, sometimes it is at the doc office and she is looking at you with those bewildered eyes on how you can even stand.
With my first, I was in pre-labor the day before, which was six days past my due date. Before that day, nothing unusual. With my second, my water broke at about 10 pm, I had no indication that day that I'd have the baby the day after
Each one was different. You can't go by how you feel with one for the next one or by anyone else's feelings. But with one I had cramping, etc. and he was born 6 wks. early, one a burst of energy and changed beds, cleaned etc, some water broke and had to go then, it's so different with each one. The baby usually got quieter I think.
I felt fine. I worked all day, took meetings in my office, I was craving a particular item and restaurant so my fellow buyer and I met a client downtown and then went to eat. I was excited because I was off from work early for the first time ever during my pregnancy.
Picked up stuff to prepare for dinner, put on comfy clothes, got in bed to read the paper.. and I promise.. 3 minutes later, my water broke!
I was in denial because I was 3 weeks early.. No contractions or anything.. But my doctor told me to go on o the hospital, because the baby was on the way. Had her the next afternoon. A real whirlwind for us.
I felt pretty much the same as any other day for the last month - tired, hot, swollen (my feet were horrible), seemed like I had to hit the bathroom every hour (child was up against my bladder at that point).
I never had a Braxton Hicks contraction - not a single one - and I was convinced we were going to go past our due date.
First hint I had that labor was coming was I lost my mucus plug at 3am (I didn't think much about it because I'd heard some women lose them weeks ahead of time and grow a new one).
Then I felt a contraction at 5am, and 36 hours later we had our son - EXACTLY on our due date.
I felt sore like I had a bad UTI and my back had flaming swords being stabbed into it. I could not sleep because of the pain.
Super uncomfortable , and I felt "off" Don't know how else to describe it.
exhausted! I was at work and soooo tired! I was 4 weeks early so I didn't know why I was so tired, but that night when my water broke, I figured it out! (:
Well, I was having some contractions that didn't gwet bad until later. I was so excited to see my baby. That would have been my first child. I was craving bacon that day, lol.
I'm having a baby next month, and I will be sure to post about her birth and the day before.
I was a week overdue so all I felt was that I wanted to get this child the heck outta me! :) Otherwise, I just felt more of the same: gigantic, puffy, tired, achy, tired and peeing all the time.
Great! Completely normal! I felt normal the day I had my son too. I had been having braxton hicks everyday all day since 20 weeks so when labor actually started around 930 that night I was too dense to realized it. I went to the hospital at 1030 only because I tripped and fell over a rock(little sister's high school was having a noise parade for homecoming). When they checked my I was 6 cm dilated and at 12:03 am I gave birth!
I got a burst of energy...I cleaned and kept busy. I wasn't sure if it was early labor or just boredom. I also had lots of bowel movements and light period-like cramps which I new was the body's natural way of cleaning itself out.
The day before? I don't remember with my oldest (19 years ago). My youngest was 3 weeks early due to complications, so I think pretty much the same as any other day. But, I specifically remember have huge bursts of energy before my son was born. Overall, I felt pretty good with all of my kids - in fact with two of them, I actually worked the day I went into labor! I would've been working with the 3rd, but it was a Sunday. LOL
induced ! so i kinda felt normal and horrible, large preggers and ready to get that pain out of me! ugh i hurt being preggers...like pressure where the sun did not shine.
I woke up feeling pretty "over it". Not terribly uncomfortable, just felt kinda grumpy and huge. It was my last day of work before maternity leave started though, so I was happy about that. I worked 9-12, went to my midwife at 1pm and picked my mom up at the airport at 2pm. (When my midwife measured me I measured 41 wks and I was only 39 weeks. That was a huge jump from the last week where I was measuring right on track. Then she told me I was ready to have the baby, at which I told her...Oh, no...It will be a week or two...I am just starting maternity leave!-haha, joke was on me!) So, my mom and I did a huge grocery shopping, went home, made dinner and I was exhausted and went to bed at 8pm. The one noticeable thing that night was that when I was letting my dog out to go potty before bed, I actually felt cold. I had been so burning hot my entire pregnancy, it was so strange to feel a chill. I think my hormones were already changing because I woke up the next morning at 5:30am feeling happy, relaxed, really well rested and excited that I was finally on maternity leave. Well, one hour later at 6:30am my water broke as my husband and I were watching the morning news in bed! Contractions started right away and stayed consistent at every 2 minutes and my son was born in water, at home at 6:52 that evening. The most wonderful feeling in the world. Natural birth left me feeling "high" for several months!
I don't really remember anything different than any other day.
Other than uncomfortable, I didn't feel any different. I was, however, two weeks overdue, and I had a false labor two weeks prior, so everything almost seemed like labor for the two weeks. Just all sorts of signals of the inevitable birth. I had a HORRIBLE backache two days prior, enough so that we went and bought a new mattress the very same day. And being off from work because of being overdue, I was very relaxed, though I slept a lot. There had also been an unusual heat wave, and I had to go to the local second hand store to buy XXL shorts and t-shirts for myself, and due to the heat wave, I couldn't be more active. Ha. Just a jumble of thoughts.
I don't remember anything being different. I woke up on 10/23 with really bad contractions which went on all day. At 8pm, we went to the hospital. It wasn't until 3:22pm on the 24th that I gave birth.
