My daughter is all upset because a formula bottle that isn't suppose to leak .. leaked in her husband's car and he is so careful with it.. she is afraid he is going to be sooooo unhappy. They just moved and are still in a motel.. and the back seat of her car is still folded over and full of stuff.. so they have to use his car.... She wants to make it all better quick.

Thanks for suggestions.

If she doesn't want to buy a carpet cleaner and the sprays don't work, a lot of car washes have shampooers. She could try that. Good luck to her.

the way this is written she sounds scared of her husband!!! any way we use oxy clean to get formula out of clothes. it depends on what the material is made out of on the car for what needs to be used. the husband might as well get use to having spills in the car...they get older and spill more things. its part of being a parent.

There is some stuff at Auto Zone which has OxyClean in it.

It removes everything.

Totally Toddler makes stain remover wipes that work great. Our little one had reflux when he was a a wee one, and I kept them in the diaper bag to clean up his messes. They also worked great in one instance when he got car sick in someone else's vehicle. If it was on the actually infant carseat those covers come off and are washable.

Check the safety and information booklet that came with the car seat. Most car seats have removable covers that can be thrown into the washing machine (both of mine do). The booklet should also provide cleaning instructions if cover removal is not possible. If she has lost the booklet, look on the car seat - they are usually imprinted with a phone number or website where she can get a copy of her car seat booklet.

They sell these mini shampooers called spotbot. They work great. Check craigslist for a used one.

I use resolve carpet cleaner on my couch and it works great. It has instructions on the back of the can about how to use it on upholstery. I got spit up, breast milk and milk out of my glider rocker with it, it worked great. Good luck!

Water with a little white vinegar should help with the smell. Just make sure it dries completely before closing the windows. Accidents happen, sadly...

I use baby wipes to get that "baby puke" smell out of clothes. Maybe that will work on the car seat.

Try woolight oxy clean carpet cleaner. We used it in our jeep to clean stains our children put on our seats. The stains came out when we didn't think they would, just follow the instructions. I hope this helps and that her husband lightens up.

You didn't say what the fabric was, leather? microfiber?
I use Kids and Pets stain remover/carpet cleaner on everything. It is non toxic, removes odors and removes stains. I had a friend vomit all over my NEW car (pregnant she was) and you can't see even a trace.
You buy it in the rug cleaning section of the grocery store or target. It's abuot a quart sized yellow plastic cylinder. READ the instuctions. It says shake first, leave on stain for 5 minutes. Cap tightly so it doesn't lose some of it's fizz. It took us forever to get it all down pat, but now we buy it by the half dozen.

For smell, I would use vinegar. For stain? I don't know.
