House Swap

Has anyone ever done a house swap or heard of a friend who has tried it successfully? Sounds like a great way to do a vacation if it worked out. I would like to plan a trip to New Zealand or Europe next summer and with the economy the way it is, a trade would make it much more feasible.

What can I do next?

I have my house posted on a home exchange website, don't have any takers yet, but it's a pretty reputable company. It's called homeexchange.com

You should google it. There are many websites and companies that do house swapping. I have heard positives and negatives of it, but have never done it myself. It is not something my husband would EVER go for. He is paranoid about our house.

Hi W.. A friend of mine did it but it was with a friend of hers. She lives in Ontario Canada and her friend lives in Newbrunswick Canada. I would look on line and see if there is an organization that offers a safe way of checking out what is available in Europe. You can never be too careful. Good luck. Sounds like an awesome idea.

Never done it myself but have seen it listed on Craigslist.
