Is there a hotel in the Twin Cities that is NOT a water park but has a nice pool and not too spendy? My parents are coming into town with my neice and nephews and we want to take the kids somewhere but don't want to spend a fortune on tickets to a water park.

What can I do next?

A friend's parents regularly stay at the American Inn off Hwy 169 and Canterbury Drive in Shakopee. They like it because my friend can take the kids there to the pool.

Just a thought but wonder if you can get a daypass to one of the lifetime fitness centers which has a waterpark--I know the one in Chanhassen has slides.

There's an AmericInn in Shakopee that has a cool pool area for free. They have a couple little slides and things, I guess. But it's cheap to stay there.

The Holiday Inn in Elk River has a waterpark that you don't have to pay extra for. Any guest can use it
