We are trying to plan a little family getaway and would like to go to a hotel for a few nights. Of course, we'd like it to have water features (just a pool is fine) but we'd also like it to have other activities such as putt putt golf, basketball, etc. Does anyone know of any hotels in the area or within an hour of the cities that has such accomodations? I thought I remembered a hotel in St Cloud having such features but can't recall.

There are a few I know of...Grand Rios in Brooklyn Park, Holiday Inn in Otsego and the hotel in St. Cloud I believe you are thinking of is also a Holiday Inn. It has 3 or 4 pools and some other activities. The last would be the Renaissance downtown Minneapolis. It has a cute pool and is connected to the Depot for indoor ice skating. We have stayed at all of them and the one in Otsego and The Renaissance are our favorites. Have a blast!
We've been to the Holiday Inn Otsego. It has a VERY family-friendly water park (wading pool, zero-entry, "gadgets" for kids). Plus, kids 12 and under eat free in the restaurant. The rates are reasonable, and the location means you don't have much of the "local" Twin Cities' crowd. (Only guests can use the water park.) If you live in the northern suburbs, it's actually fairly close. From Coon Rapids, we can make it in 20-25 minutes. Wherever you decide, have fun!!
The Inn on Lake Superior in Duluth is great. They have a very kid-friendly atmosphere and an indoor pool (ask for a poolside room), as well as a rooftime outdoor pool that is heated and open in the winter!
It's right on Canal Park so you get all the waterfront stuff like the aquarium, the lift bridge, cool parks, a five minute drive to Glensheen mansion, and, of course, the Big Lake.

How about looking at places around MOA? I know that there is an indoor waterpark- I'm not sure if that is in one of the hotels or separate... Or you could find a place that would shuttle you to the mall where the kids could play at the amusement park. Hope that helps!
St. Cloud does have a fantastic hotel with 2 pools, a toddler pool 2 hot tubs, indoor basketball and volleyball, arcade games, billiards, ping pong, and a play area (like at McDonalds with tunnels and slides.) The open spaces are nice for kids to run around. It is a Holiday Inn. K.
The Holiday Inn in St.Cloud near the mall is the one you are thinking of. Several pools, two volleyball courts, a basketball court, video games, air hockey, a hot tub, etc. If you get a suite near the volleyball court you have a lot of room to gather people and have the kitchen facilities you might want. The bedroom can be closed off and there's a little living room area in there as well.
There is a new holiday inn in Maple Grove - Arbor lakes that has a 25,000 square foot Venetian Indoor Water Park fully equipped with four slides, wading pool, basketball hoops, and activity pool. The room rates include free admission to the park which is decorated like Venice. A couple blocks away is a Dave & Busters and lot of restaurants.
Try booking online since they had good internet rates last time I checked.
