Hospitals/birthing Centers in the Bucks County Area?

Doylestown hospital is excellent for birthing...I had both of my kids there and equally exceptional experiences! E.

It really depends on what you are looking for in the facility. Grand View and Lehigh Valley both have very high cesarean rates, and tend to treat birth as a high tech/high risk medical event. I'm more familiar with Lehigh Valley since it is 10 minutes from my house, and I can tell you that it has a good NICU if you are anticipating needing that, but if your goal is to have freedom to do what you want in labor, you might have difficulty acheiving that.

I'm not familiar with Doylestown at all.

St. Luke's Allentown tends to be somewhat flexible and willing to work with a mom on her desires. If you want to move around a lot in labor, use a Jacuzzi, or move after getting an epidural, this is likely to be a good choice for you. (Sacred Heart might be better). They have a lower level NICU than Lehigh Valley.

St. Luke's Bethelehem (probably too far away for you?) tends to be a bit more high tech than SLA. Some flexibility for mom, NICU level the same as Lehigh Valley.

I can't say enough good things about Grand View. My mom has worked there as an OR nurse for over 25 years, and she would never send me to anyone she didn't trust completely. I have received wonderful care there for the birth of my two children and for everything else over the years growing up in this area.

My OB/GYN is Stoneridge--all the docs are excellent. Drs. Pagan (their only female doctor--she is wonderful) and Lindberg were fantastic in a delivery with some complications--professional, calm, encouraging, etc. Dr. Moskoff delivered my second--very professional and very nice.

My pediatrician is Kids First Indian Valley. I can't say enough good things. Again, all the docs are great. They are also affiliated with Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia--one of the very best places to go for anything more serious.

Good luck to you. We're in the same boat except moving from PA to Ohio in a few weeks. I sure wish I could take my doctors with me!

I used St. Luke's (Bethlehem) and loved it. It's been my family hospital since before I was born. My niece, sister, mom and self have all been born there!

Welcome to PA!!!! I had my first baby at Doylestown Hospital and I really liked it there. I was in a room by myself and everything was clean and happy there. I wish I had all my children there, however I had c-sections and I heard they were able to handle complications at the time so I switched to Abington Hospital in Abington. Which was not as nice an experience but hey it's a hospital!!!! It's alot bigger there and your more like a number.

You know what though, as long as your getting the care you need and your baby needs that is all that matters!!!!

I delivered all three of my children at Grand View Hospital - Grand View OB/GYN. Both of my sisters and many of my friends and neighbors have delivered there too - all great experiences. They have CHOP drs. on staff there 24 hrs a day -which is great piece of mind.

I had a great experience at Grand View. The nurses were great and I had my own room.
