Depends on the food. If it's a veggie then you'll want to warm it. If it's fruit it'll be up to you if baby likes chilled food or warm it enough to take the chill off. I usually warmed enough to take the chill off at first and then got them accustom to room temp and then chilled from the fridge.
You can use the microwave or you can use a bowl of hot water but it takes longer. You can even let it sit room temp for a bit to take the chill off, just stir it now and then.
