hi all

My dd and I are back from our vacation. We had an amazing time!! Our 1st real vacation in years. Well I am feeling so sad and depressed. I know this is probably normal but its bugging me as I have never felt like this. I am back at work but thats not really bothering me as I love my work (not the early rises though! lol) Night times are the worst - I feel I could cry - so weird!! I feel tired and my head is aching most of the time. Please tell me this is normal? I have not even looked at our vacation pictures yet as I am afraid I start blubbering in front of my dd. lol. Does this sound a tad extreme to anyone?? Hopefully I will feel better soon. :-(

What can I do next?

Personally, I've always found the longer the vacation and the more relaxed I am coming off it, the harder it is to get back into the grind. And yes, I do get a little depressed. When we've done 2-3 week vacations, this happens without fail. Would I cut down on my vacation time to alleviate the blues afterward? HECK NO!! LOL There's nothing like a nice, long rejuvenating holiday. Feel better soon :)

Sounds like you need more vacations!! I'm going away on a vacation soon for the first time in a long time, also, and I have no doubt I'll be blue upon return - maybe start brainstorming your next trip with dd so that you have something to look forward to!!

Go to the movies. Have a picnic dinner. Break the routine. Spend a day at the Keys. Put some fun in your normal life.

Start planning your next vacation, even if it will be years from now or a "mini" vacation for one night a few hours away. You've had this to look forward to for a long time and now its over and what do you have to look forward to? I always need something to look forward to...

I always get a little bummed after vacation.
I think we all need a little more "vacation" in our every day lives!
So shake it up on a weekly basis--do something new and different. Try a new place for dinner, stop at a park you always pass, but never visit....

Maybe this reaction is telling you you could use a little more unstructured, fun time--year round!
