Historical Sock Puppet

My son has to do a sock puppet on a historical person. When I asked him what historical person he wanted to do it on, his reply was "what is history". I'm at a blank. I figured that school might have been going over this w/them and he knew what the deal was. He has to do research on it and when doing the demonstration has to speak in the first person. Any Ideas on a historical figure for a 7 year old?

What can I do next?

Hi Brenda- I'd say you can always contact his teacher for any clarification you may want. Good historical figures would be Abe Lincoln, George Washington, Martin Luther King, Jr., Ben Franklin, Christopher Columbus, Thomas Jefferson.

Why not start with the recent holidays we've had? Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington? I'm certain that your son's school has gone over these figures in the months of January and February. Good luck!

George Washington. Not too hard to research, and he did TONS of things that are easy for a 7 year old to understand, or better yet have him do Abraham Lincoln. Everyone knows who he is. Take a penny out of your purse and show him who he is... Lincoln would be best.
