Quad test results 1:50 for D.S.
I have been waiting for the amnio test results and they should be here tomorrow. I have been going crazy with worry!
Anyone else have the same story?

What can I do next?

Mine was 1:150 and should have been 1:3000 at that age. My son is now almost 8 years old with nothing worse than mild asthma.
I have heard so many stories of these results being wrong, I don't even know why they still do these tests.

Yeah, every one of the four levels in my quad test were out of whack. Dr's talked of D.S. and Trisomy 18 and other unimaginable possibilities. Had the amnio done and got the fsh results and she was fine. She is now an amazingly perfect 5 year old! Try not to stress too much (I know, easier said than done) but there are a TON of false positives on the quad tests. Please try to focus on the fact that there is just as much of a chance that your precious, darling baby will be just fine! And, you will love it no matter what!

A one in 50 chance is like 2%. Check it with the nuchal translucency test and other measures and see what happens.
Having a Down Syndrome child isn't the end of the world, either, and finding out early can help you be prepared for special needs your child might have. But in any case there's no point in worrying, especially if you are getting an amnio.

I had that with my first pregnancy. It was a false positive, which I hear is very common. We didn't do the amnio because the risk of hurting the baby was greater than the risk of having DS.
Don't panic..... I know. I panicked too. Try not to panic too much. You can't do anything about it, and I'm sure you will love your baby regardless.

You will love your baby no matter what the results are. A lot of people have had abnormal results and baby came out "normal".... It will be what it will be honey... try not to worry. ***Big Hug***

Mine was 1:47 and the worrying was awful, so I sympathize. I didn't have the amnio so we didn't find out for sure until the baby was born in October. She's perfectly healthy.

Read my earlier posts. I had a 1:18 chance, and it turned out fine. I gave birth to her 6 days ago worried that the amnio results were wrong but she is perfect. Dont stress, those quad screenings are ridiculous.
