Hey, I Just Met You, and This Is Crazy... ;) JFF

I updated my Facebook status with this the other day:

I was bored...

I have a love/hate relationship with the song. It's a catchy tune, but the actual meaning of it is annoying. And the memes are hilarious!

My favorite of the memes is a picture of a raccoon with the caption: Hey, I just bit you. Because I'm crazy. So call your doctor, cause you have rabies.

Oh, boy-- I must be out of touch. I've never heard the song.

Last week, though, I walked into the store where a woman with her hands fanned out asked if I'd reach into the back pocket of her painted-on jeans to get her grocery list out for her. She'd just had her manicure done at the salon next door. ( I did... she told me that I made a good impression or she wouldn't have asked me. ha.)

"Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but could you fish out my list for dinner tonight, maybe?" :)

I think I'm happy to say that I don't know what song this refers to :)

I HATE that song, but I LOVE the memes. My personal favorite is the Back To The Future meme. "I just met you, and this is crazy, but I'm from the future, and I'm your baby."

I kept seeing stuff about the song all over the internet, so I decided to look at the son on youtube. I guess I thought it would be really good, or she'd be incredibly talented. (Like, when the internet first became obsessed with Adele.) Shame on me, I should have known!!

'But heres my number...call me, maybe'? Ha!

Of course I have heard this song and yes it is very catchy...they do play it ALL the time on my local radio station but quite frankly I am happy from the Gotye break...if I had to hear 'Someone that I used to know' one more time I might just scream!

My new favorite is 'Tongue Tied' by Grouplove...have you heard it?

Didn't know about the memes. :D LOVE. Makes the song better. My sons favorite station only plays about 6 songs a month, over, and over, and over. This one is on the list now... So I live the alternates!!!

((Love Party Rockin & Sexy and I Know It, though. Hehehe my son calls the band Lamb-faux... Instead of LMFAO... Also the song with the beater hoopty car, I own that. Can't pay my rent this month, I owe that. ))

Love it. I'm in a POP music mood these days... and my 5 year old (boy) seems to enjoy them with me and we both love this one. My 3 year old (daughter) loves it too.

I also checked out the Obama version, which - I thought was hysterical.

My kids sing this song and everything else on the radio constantly. And my kids can't say sorry, without adding ........ for party rockin! Stupid party rockin song!!

I love this song :) it's catchy and fun ... and guess how old the singer is?

I haven't seen the meme's but the video cracked me up ... especially the end ... I about fell out of my chair laughing :)

its all my daughter wants to listen to. And then her and all her friends are singing it at the top of their lungs. now it will be in my head until I hear it on the radio on the way home.

I dont love it and I can usually stand it if I am in a good mood. ( i listen to more older country if I can help it). but today is not the day. Things keep going down at work and I just want to rip my hair out. I am going to have to youtube the Memes about this song. they sound rather cute.

I don't know about the song you are talking about, but to my great misfortune, my kids showed me the "I'm Sexy and I Know It" youtube video of the guy on top of the bar dancing, and I thought I'd throw up. Now I can't listen to that song (which WAS a cool song to me) without seeing that guy in my head.

Don't know if I'm even in the ballpark here with the whole "meme" thing. My son tried to explain meme to me, and I didn't get it. (He just rolls his eyes at me. I wonder if I did that to MY mom when I was a teenager!)

Added - you gotta be right, Angi! So funny! Tells ya how old I am now that I can't remember if I rolled my eyes at her!!!

You should google "Obama Sings Call Me Maybe". I can't listen to that song anymore without hearing Obama's voice.
