I need advice on the best method in cleaning laminate floors. I have bought every kind of mop that that's out there and yet i still cannot get the smears out. I have tried to use less water. The best way i have found to clean it is to use damp cloth and go over it again with a dry microfiber like mop. But this is killing my knees and back.:((
What do I use? What is the best mop to use with out killing myself?:)
Thanks so much

Hey A., I know this post is old, but just wanted to tell U what works for me. I too use the mop with the washable/replaceable terry cover, BUT I mop with generic windex. I know it sounds CRAZY, but I was spending a fortune on the LAMINATE FLOOR cleaners, it would take an entire bottle everytime I mopped (we have a lot of laminate) and I hated the smell of it. The window cleaner has worked great for me and its much cheaper that the laminate cleaner, Good LUCK, D.

I have a mop from Target brand is Method. It works pretty well. It comes with dry clothes to pick up the dirt/stuff, but I generally vacuum first. Then there is a blue microfiber cloth and it comes with cleaning solution, and you just squirt the stuff and mop it up, no water required. And it is safe to use with kids because it is chemical free. You can also wash the cloth. I think the it does a good job, I know laminate floors are the worst!! good luck

We pulled up all the carpet in our house and replaced it w/ laminate. The only thing that works for me is the Pledge Multisurface spray (it was the only cleaner I found that said it was safe for laminates) and a Libman dust mop w/ removable terrycloth cover. The only down side is that you have to spray the cleaner directly on the floor so you have to carry it around, but it doesn't leave streaks when dry. Also, the cover is washable so it doesn't get nasty. I got both at Kroger. Here are the links: http://www.pledge.com/multi-surface-cleaner & http://www.libman.com/index.aspx?src=PDI&pid=128&... so you can see exactly what I meant. Hope this helps!

I've had my pergo flooring for 7 years....I currently use a swiffer wetjet with the swiffer wetjet mulit-purpose cleaner. The other types of swiffer wetjet cleaners leave it sticky and smeary.

The truly best way to get it completely streak free is to use a flat dust mop with removable/washable terry cloth cover (I found mine at Home Depot). Use either water or a light vinegar/water solution...(or buy the spray pergo cleaner from Home Depot)....spray the floor and then wipe/scrub with the dust mop. Do small areas at a time & it will be streak free!

I think magic eraser by Mr Clean would clean off the marks.
