Help with Reflux for My 2 Mo Old

I am going to the doctor (Dr Rahman) Monday morning but I wanted to know if there was anything I can do for my baby's reflux? I was told they can give medication for it but that my doctor won't do that. I do not want to "wait it out" because it kills me everyday to see her in pain. She's also gassy & colic. Any help would be appreciated. Oh, & if anyone has a baby around the same age and wants to get together for adult conversation (with the babies of course) email me. I live in Wellington.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you for your suggestions with my daughter's reflux. The Dr gave her "axid" & told me to go dairy free. He also recommended I keep her upright for 30-45 mins after feeding. He said I can have soy so hopefully this will work along with the mylicon & gripe water.

My son has acid reflux and was given Prevacid since 3 weeks old. It helps. He is almost 2 and still takes it. My son was also allergic to milk and soy protein. Do you think your daughter may have any allergies? He was gassy and very uncomfortable.
He sees Dr Hernandez (ped Gastro Dr) and he is wonderful and loves kids.
Good Luck.

Hi A.,

My 2 yo daughter had also acid reflux, and multiple food allergy also. My advice for you would be to see a specialist (pediatric gastro-enterologist) rather than a pediatrician. We are pacients of dr. Enrique Hernandez (i saw another "+" rating for him). He really knows what he's doing, but the office is pretty busy (actually both of them are, Boca & wellington)
Good luck!

Hi A.,
My daughter had reflux too. It was horrible to see her in so much pain so I was willing to try anything. The doctors say to switch your diet if your breastfeeding or switch formula. For me, the change in my diet( completely dairy free) did not make that much of an improvemnet. Someone suggested being on a schedule with feeding- i cant remember why. My ped also gave her a small dose of zantac-
A baby nurse suggested to me something called "colic calm"- i called it black magic because it worked really well for a while (and its black.) You can only find it online- just google it. It has vegatable charcoal in it- thats why it is black but some people say not to use it- definitly talk to your ped about it. I swear by it- at least it helped my girl. I really hope this helps and remember she will grow out of this. My daughter is now 7 months old and is much better now!

Hi A.,

What are the symptoms you had with your baby? My name is D.. I am new to this web site. I have a 6 week old girl, she is my first. I had her on enformil and she spit that up constantly and a couple of throw ups here and there. The Peditrician suggested I try Similac Soy, she has gotten better but still has a little spit up here and there. Also, around 7p.m every night she has these little crying spells, where she crys for a minute stops and crys stop and crys, I can tell she keeps getting a pain. Do these symptoms seem like acid reflux?

By the way, I live in Andros Isles close to Wellington, maybe we can do a play date one of these days.

D.
