Kraftfoods.com has the best & easiest recipies. You can choose healthy options & they have a meal planner thats easy to use.
My little girl is going to be 2 on the 7th of April. She is a very good eater, I try to keep it as healthy as possible. My question is do any of you have any healthy recipes that you can suggest. I hate to cook so this has been a real challange for me but I want to see her eat healthy. She LOVES chicken, turkey, beef, noodles, brocolli, carrots, fruits, eggs stuff like that. She has not been exsposed to pork or seafood just because my Doctor told me she can eat anything but those 2 things pork around 3 and seafood stay away from as long as possible. I just have no imagination when it comes to thing to cook so any suggestions would be great.
Thank you,
R. J.

My daughter loves turkey. I always purchase the young turkey's or the half breast frozen turkey's.
I bake the turkey on 325 min 2 hrs depending on size. All you need is salt, pepper 1 can of chicken broth and poultry season. I also add a little garlic salt and then cover with foil. It last for days and very tasty for the kiddies.
You can also do the same in the crock pot. Add all the ingedients and put the crock pot on low for about 6-7 hrs. If you're a busy or working mom put it in before you leave and it will be ready when you come home..
My daughter also hates veggies. But she will eat sweet potato's. I cube the potatos and season with brown sugar and pumkin spice. I bake at 350 for about 30 min.
Good luck

Hi R.. Sounds like you have a precious little girl. Here's a suggestion that's easy. Whatever you eat, she can eat. Do YOU eat healthy? Start now by being an example to your daughter. If you want her to continue to eat healthy, then you should to. There's isn't much a 2 year old can't eat. The younger 4 of my 6 children ate exactly what the rest of the family ate after they were weaned. I used a baby food grinder and served up their meal. From that point on, whatever Mom fixed for dinner, everyone ate.
Have you tried Rachael Ray's recipes? She's great!!

I am a big fan of Eating Well. They put out a bi-monthly magazine which we receive, but also they have a great website www.eatingwell.com where you can search for recipes by ease of preparation, key ingredients, etc. They have 2 recipe categories which you may find useful "Cooking for Kids" and "Meals in a Hurry". We are always pleased with their recipes - they turn out and are very tasty and healthy too. It's great that your daughter is a good eater. Keep giving her new foods and variety. My kids have actually backslid as they have gotten older (they are 7 and 8). They used to eat more things and now they are pickier. I think that I wasn't consistent and insistent enough to keep them trying new things. Now, we do insist that they keep trying the same things, even if they say they don't like them.
Hi R. my name is T. and I specialize in child development as well as an athletic trainer for children & adults. I am a mother of a 4 year old little girl who is also my inspiration. To be honest with you fresh or steamed vegestables plain or w/ little seasoning with any of the meats you mentioned is great for her. You really don't want to add to many spices or get to fancy with recipes for her at 2. You can give them to her seperately or mixed together. Homemade Soups w/ a Variety of vegies, & chicken is a great way to get in a variety of nutrients at one meal as well. You can serve the soups solid or mash it w/ a fork to make it easier for her to eat. If you start applying to many seasonings then it will most likely increase your childs tastebuds which will in turn influence her potential to be a picky eater which will make it harder & more frustrating for you. The childhood obesity rate is truly on the rise so I encourage you to teach her good habits now w/ fresh fruits & veggies & lean meats. Try hard to stay away from packaged foods especially snacks. The color dye in snacks & snacks w/ larger than 13g of sugar increase your child's potential for ADD & ADHD.
PS.
AT 2 boring food is very healthy food for your sweet little girl.
Good Luck,
T.

Hey there R., I love this recipie called mini pot pies
It goes like this:
chicken in a can (like tuna) 1 big or 2 small
cheese about 3 cups or more or less to taste (your fav.)
frozen or fresh peas and carrots (about 1cup)
Half pack of cream cheese (generic taste the same)
Grands flakey biscuits (the big ones)
garlic and salt and pepper to taste
mix all ingredents in big bowl
split biscuits in half and place bottom half in cupcake pan add mixture (i like to put extra cheese on top) then put top of biscut on and press together or down on sides of cup-cake hole. do this till all biscuits are used up. bake like you were baking biscuts.
Just a warning the rubber cup-cake pan doesnt cook all the way through on this recipie.
Hope you enjoy this as much as we did.
Good luck!
my mom used to make this really easy chicken recipe we call Rocky Top Chicken.
You broil a piece of chicken in the oven and then at the last few minutes top with a bit of Baby Ray's Barbecue sauce and a slice of cheese (Kraft singles) and let cook til cheese bubbles.
Then you top with chopped up chives and tomatoes. it's really easy and really good and then we just eat anything as a side -- potatoe, broccoli, etc.
don't know if that's what you are looking for, but something to try!

Hi R.,
I have two children a 5 year old and 5 month old... And I love to cook. However my 5 month old is not as calm as my first was so I have had to learn alot of quick and easy meals... I have also really started to love my crockpot... If you have one there are SO many things you can make in there. Please feel free to e-mail me and I will send you some recipes. Kraftfoods.com and Publix.com are good sites to try as well. Also keep in mind the longer you wait to have your child try something the more likely they are not going to want to try it. She might eat anything right now... but give it about 6-12 months are you are going to be suprised at how picky she gets... i think most go through it. Good Luck

I like to search recipes online for the most part. Allrecipes.com has a search that goes ingredents. Makes dinner much easier. Just put in 2 or 3 ingredents and find something you would like to try.
I recommend this books:
The Healthy Baby Meal Planner and
First Meals
by Annabel Karmel.
I bought them in amazon used for really good prices and they were like new when I got them , just paid a really good $$$.
Good luck
I recommend the cook book Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld. It is super healthy and a great way to get kids to eat healthy stuff. It is really easy book to follow and get started. You can find it on Amazon.com for a reasonable price.
Best of luck!!
R.,
HI! I am a married 38 (39 in June :-(....!!) and am the mother of a beautiful 5 1/2 yr old girl. She is a picky eater, but we have taught her to try everything first then make a decision. Here is a simple recipe for chili with the help of Publix. All you need is a lb of ground turkey breast, a can of kidney beans, and 15 oz can of tomato sauce and a packet of Publix Mild Chili mix and top with Publix shredded Mexican three cheese mix. (you can also serve over brown rice if you want.) I also add Benefiber to help with the plumbing issue goos result for the family between the beans and the Benefiber!! LOL
Here are the directions:
Brown and drain turkey
added beans (undrained), sauce, mix and stir. Cover and let simmer for 15 mins and serve with cheese and rice.
Easy on the budget and healthy. I double it and use 1 lb turkey and 1 lb ground sirloin for my husbands taste and freeze for later meals in a hurry.
I am a good cook who hates to cook!! But I have a few other good recipes. Email me if you want some more. ____@____.com
Good luck!
