Here's one that's fast and easy!
Tator Tot Casserole
One bag frozen tator tots.
1 1/2 lbs hamburger
1/2 onion, chopped
one can cream of mushroom soup
One can of corn
half cup milk
lots of shredded cheese.
Line the bottom of a large baking dish with the frozen tator tots. Place in oven and turn on to 375. Brown hamburger with chopped onion. Drain fat. Mix Cream of Mushroom soup with milk and add to hamburger, add corn, stir in a handful of cheese, more if desired. Scoop hamburger mixture over tator tots, cover with cheese and cover with aluminum foil. Bake for about 20 min. The best way to tell if it's done is to dig out a tator tot and make sure it's not still frozen. This is a great one dish meal that will feed a lot, and it's easy to bake two at the same time. This also freezes well.
Hi K.,
I too am all about cheap and quick! I find alot of good recipes on kraftfoods.com, that are simple and easy to make and usually have the ingredients that you would have in your kitchen. Some of my favorites that are quick and cheap are: Easy baked ravioli (I use frozen ravioli - cheap and easy), chicken and dumplings (this may be off the betty crocker website since you use biaquick for the dumplings), amongst other many great recipes. Another thing I will do that is pretty quick and cheap is buy a pork roast, whatever the cheapest cut is, slice up an onion and buy honey BBQ sauce and throw it all in the slow cooker. Then we have BBQ pulled pork sandwiches for dinner and it's the perfect time of the year. Throw in some jello or fresh fruit and a can of corn and there's your dinner. Hope this helps and I would definitely check out kraftfoods.com. So many ideas! Good luck!
Here's one of my fav.'s that my Mom used to make for me.
Chicken Roll-ups
1 (8 oz) can of Cream of Chicken
1/2 cup of Milk
2 cups of Moz. Cheese
1 large can of Chicken
1 can of (8) Crescent Rolls
Preheat oven to 350. Take the chicken place a small amount on each crescent roll, along w/ a little of the cheese. Roll them up. Bake them until the rolls start to rise. In the meantime, mix together the cream of chicken w/ the milk. When the rolls rise, take them out cover them w/ the mixture and the rest of the cheese. Bake for 20-30 mins.
I love this recipe. You can make a larger amount by just doubling everything. So its great for large or small families. Hope you try it, and enjoy!!
hi K.
A friend gave me this recipie and everyone who has had it loves it.

I like this one because you can make it up ahead of time then just pop it in the oven when your ready!

*I will usually have leftover beef from a potroast that I will shred and make this dish with. It is really easy, and my kids and husband even like to help!
I have found hundreds of recipe and menu ideas on this site.
You can have everything from crepes in the morning to lobster bisque in the evening.
Hope this helps!
Try allrecipes.com. I plan all my meals from this website!
Kraft foods had a magazine they send out quarterly that has some great quick and easy recipes that do not require a lot of fancy ingredients! I love it...You can get it sent to you free by signing up on the website. I think it's kraftfoods.com and it's under the "food and family" magazine. Or can just look online and print out the ones you'd like to try.
Here is a family favorite from when I was a kid and my little guy loves it too.
Goulash
1 lb of ground beef
1 small onion
2 cups of elbow macaroni (uncooked)
1 large (the really big one) can of tomato juice
salt, pepper and sugar to taste.
Cook onion and ground beef with a little salt and pepper until beef is cooked and onion is soft, drain and set aside. Meanwhile, cook the macaroni according to the directions on package. Drain the macaroni and return to pot, add in the beef and onions, pour in the can of tomato juice. Add salt and pepper to taste. Adding a tablespoon or so of sugar takes the bitter edge off of the tomato juice. Heat to a simmer and serve. This is the way that we like it, but you can pour the mixture into a casserole, top with chesse and bake for 30 mins at 350 too. Very easy and very quick.
Some other things that are good and easy are tacos, pigs in a blanket, tuna noodle casserole, Bisquick's Cheeseburger Pie, and I love www.cooks.com because you can enter in a couple of ingredients that you have laying around and it will give you recipes that have that stuff in it.
Good luck!
We are in the same boat. I have 6 children all together, 8 in the whole family. They like soul food, italian food, mexican food and portuguese food. I know very little from each of them. I need help too, so whatever you get share with me please.
I personally like slow cook meals as well as the quick ones. I like to set it and forget it, while I do other things around the house or around town.

I am the owner of Dream Dinners in Wheat Ridge www.dreamdinners.com. I saw that someone mentioned us as a meal prep business and you really might want to try it! It really helps to add to the variety of dinners you serve every month. You make the meals yourself in approx. 2 hrs and one month's typical order is enough for three meals a week that are ready to be thawed and cooked (usually in 20-30 min). We do all the prep work and clean-up. You just put the recipes together and you can cater them to your tastes. Our recipes are kid friendly too! If you would like to try one free meal to see what they are really like email me at ____@____.com and I'll set you up with our store! Hope this helps! C.
I have a friend who just started a business called Mama Meals. email me if you want her number and info!
CHICKEN ROLLS & GRAVY
3 c. chopped, cooked chicken
8 oz. cream cheese
1-2 tbsp. butter
Salt & pepper
Italian seasoned bread crumbs
butter for melting & dipping
2 (8 oz.) count Pillsbury crescent rolls
2 Cans Chicken Gravy
Mix chicken and cream cheese. If a bit dry add 1 to 2 tablespoons butter. May also add mushrooms, peas, peppers, etc. Make sure to add butter if adding any of these. Add salt and pepper to taste. Unroll and flatten out all 16 crescent rolls. Put a spoonful of chicken mix on each roll. Pull the point of roll over top of chicken. Do the same with the wide end. Pull sides around and pinch closed. Should be ball shaped. Dip in melted butter and roll in italian bread crumbs. Place in baking dish or large cake pan; leave a little space between rolls. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with gravy.
Besides macaroni and cheese, this is my kids' favorite dish!
I joined Campbells recipes and have found a lot of them that I love.
Try www.kraftfoods.com You can sign up for emails or the free "Food and Family" magazine. They have a section (on the web and magazine) called "Express Check-out" where it gives you a shopping list and a list of pantry staples and you can make 5 meals out of the one shopping trip (sometimes using leftovers from previous meals - although you may not have any with so many to feed). Almost all of the recipes are easy/quick. I also like to use www.foodnetwork.com for a source of inspiration (like Rachael Ray's 30-minute-meals).
There are also a lot of meal prep stores popping up all over the country like "My Girlfriend's Kitchen" or "Dream Dinners" where you go once a month for a couple of hours and assemble meals to freeze and then use those meals throughout the month on the days that you just won't have the time to cook. It's about $200 for 12 meals and it does require some advance planning because you have to remember to thaw out the meals, not to mention you have to have the freezer space. You could do the same thing at home, but you'll spend more time prepping and probably more money on ingredients.
If you still need more ideas, send me a message.
