Give him primadolpolis (good bacteria, that helps fight the bad bacteria-- it works wonders for the stomache, and yes it is very good for little ones) it is at health food store in the fridge section.
My son contracted a little stomach bug while we were in Kansas last week. He was vomitting and had diarrea. I think the vomitting is over, but he still has diarrea. Is there anything I can do for him other than giving him fluids to hydrate him?

If you're nursing, nurse him lots. Of course give him fluids such as Pedialyte as well. Hold him and let this run its course. At least it is getting out of his system. These types of illnesses usually resolve within a couple of days.
My daughter was sick with the rotovirus at 2 months. She had non stop diarreah for almost a week and was at the DR's twice, plus the ER. The only thing that worked was the formula Similac Isomil for diarreah. They sell it at CVS. It really helped a lot. I'm not sure the age requirement for Pedialite, but you could try that too. The biggest thing is obviously preventing dehydration. Other than that, it just has to take it's course. The biggest issue I had was diaper rash :( My poor baby's butt was raw. I tried everything and the only thing that helped was organic diaper rash stuff from the health food store.
Hi My name is Missy. Im not sure if youve already got some different advise, but this past September when my son was 11 months old the samething happened to us when we were in New Jersey. IT got so bad that my son even developed a horrible diaper rash that scared his little butt. After going into the doctors and my son losing a little weight even this is what I found to help(doctors orders). I was nervous to try this out, but she told me to put him on a special SOY formula called Isomil for diarrea. I could only find it at Wallgreens since its a pharmacey...in the baby isle. The doc said this helped because when they have a stomach bug they temporarily are unable to digest the milk proteins, which is what keeps making him sick. My son has never tried any bit of soy formula but willingly took it for this short time and I saw results right away. He was only on it for maybe 3 days. I also made sure to give him only the B.R.A.T diet. Banana, rice, apples, toast. Very plain and blah. I made a few variations, but made sure it wasnt anything fancy he ate. One last thing, I made sure to Lube his bottom up with a ton of the thickest ointment. Actually my son had to be on an atibiotic one, but if yours hasnt developed a rash then just make sure to keep it coated so he doesnt develop one from all the diarrea. I hope he feels better soon and I hope this advise helps. I know not one thing helps every baby, but this is what worked for us. Take Cae and HAve a wonderful Holiday.

Try PEDIA LITE it is made to put the electrolytes back into the body we lose when we are ill, through sweating, vomit, diarrhea ect. It goes bad fast once open so use it up and then put a new bottle in the cabinet for next time.
However, since the child is so young it can be DANGEROUS to lose fluids like that.
CALL your DOCTOR and have him checked out.
I would rather be safe than sorry.
Once you KNOW your childrens patterns (after the first year or so)it is different to try and self treat but always lean towards the JUST IN CASE side and SEEK HELP when it is not corrected within a day or two.
A BUG at 9 months is risky! CALL YOUR DOCTOR TODAY!

Bless his heart! I would keep Pedialyte on hand and give him it often in small amounts. For the time being, do not give him any type of juice; especially apple juice. Juice is very dehydrating when a child has diarrhea or vomiting.
Also, if you are feeding him formula, water down the solution with more water. There little tummies can not handle a lot when they are sick...I'm sure that your pediatrician will tell you the same...that is what the girls doc told me to do and it worked rather well.

Unfortunately my little guy was sick quite frequently when he was an infant. I felt like I lived at the pediatrician's office! He always told me (everytime I went!), to supplement one bottle feeding with pedialyte (same amount of ounces from regular feedings). If that stays down and in, give a real bottle the next feeding. If that doesn't stay down and in, then go back to the pedialyte. Keep switching back and forth until formula or breast milk stays down and in. This was when my son wasn't eating solids. Now that he's older, my doctor always said to give him rice cereal with his formula. It's absorbent and helps stabilize the stomach. Also, bananas do the same thing. They should help with the diarrea.
just make sure that he stays hydrated..give him Pedialyte..most doctors approve of this that will keep him hydrated..don't try to give him food or water etc only make stomach virus worse..go with the Pedialyte..
hope this helps
God Bless
Try blueberries. I read it somewhere and ever since then I give my kids thawed frozen blueberries at the first sign of "looseness" it has worked like a charm for us. They love eating them and a few hours later they are good as new.
My dad always suggests feeding my babies spinach when they get diarrea. It seams to do the trick. It helps with the diarrea and with rehydratation gl!!
