if he just graduated he should definitely go to the campus career office. They get great job leads for a variety of things. If push comes to shove, he needs to get any job - ANY JOB - that pays the bills. Remember, a degree does not equal a full time office job :( I only say this because I think sometimes our pride gets in the way from doing what needs to be done. Been there, done that. When I first started in my career I was an admin. That said, does he have any experience?
How about his internships. Many majors require a one semester internship so you graduate with on-the-job experience. If he didn't do one. He should apply for some at businesses he likes or is interested in to build up his resume. Also, networking is KEY in finding higher level jobs - that or headhunter firms. If there is a professional society that he can join, or attend some meetings, he should. Some of those organizations also have job boards.
Good luck to him. Praying for your peace during this time of transition. :)
