I'd ask my doctor. I had an episotomy with 2 of my 3 boys (one was a c section) and after a couple months it healed totally and has never bothered me.

i never had an episiotomy but i had a c-section with both of my kids and when my first was a year and a half, i went to the dr. cause i was having pain when we had sex and i thought something was wrong - my dr. said it was probably my scar tissue that my husband was hitting when we had sex and that could go on for years so to just try and find different "angles" to lessen the intensity of the pain.

but if you are worried at all, then it's better to just make an appt. with the dr. and explain your worries - always makes me feel better and they always reassure me that that's what they are there for!! good luck!

hi. im nikki. i had a c- section 2 years ago and it still has this like burning type of pain where the scar is even more so since im pregnant again. i think its just the scar tissue there that kinda hurts sometimes. its wiered it kinda hurts more in chilly weather, im not sure why but i think its normal. about your period being iregular i think it just takes some peoples bodys longer to adjust after a baby because i had the same problem so theres probably no need to worry but if your nervous about it you might want to see a doctor.

Kegels Kegels Kegels. I had to go to the ER room because of that also well I had other issues as well, but my obgyn recommends kegels, and I have noticed a huge difference when I do the exercises. Oh and also, try to avoid too much dairy and spicy foods. That episiotomy will cause unwanted air bubbles to flow out unexpectedly... :*(
Kind of embarrasing I know. I'll be praying that God heals you and helps you during this body transition. Blessing... :D

Good for you Trish! I wish more teen moms would recognize the love that they can only provide for their child. It's a tough road -- really tough at times. Hang in there and know in your heart you're doing the right thing.

I wouldn't worry about your aches and pains. Sometimes it takes up to a year, or even longer, to get back to normal. Ask your Dr. next visit.

Good luck to you and your little treasure.

Hello Trish,

When I had my first daughter 7 years ago they gave me an episiotomy too.
She was stuck in the birth canal with her hand by her head. She finally came out
blue but was ok after that. Anyways it took me almost a year before it didn't
hurt anymore. Especially making love to my husband. I thought for awhile they
stitched me up wrong. I would think by now you would be ok, but I would definitely
check with your doctor. Maybe they did stitched you up too much and something is
pinching down there. The good news is after my second baby everything healed perfectly
and within months I was back to normal.
Hope this helps.

Hi Trish, I am a mother of 3 (6, 4, and almost 2). Had 2 episotomies and a torn during the last delivery. I don't recall any sharp pains after just a couple of months. You should check with your OB/GYN.

hi, the period thing is normal, i've heard a lot of moms say they have to take birth control pills just to regulate their periods. as for the episotomy, i had one too, but have never had any pain. you should probably call your doctor and tell em what's going on. good luck.

Get it checked. Maybe it's nothing serious, but it could be an infection, so better safe than sorry- especially if you plan to have any more children down the road.

I had an episiotomy with my first ds. Then during the birth of my dd my OB massaged it, very painfully. Then he sewed me up with no pain relief after I tore. Needless to say my scar was painful for right around a year. My husband and I could not be intimate for a year because of it.

I am sorry you are going through this pain. You should talk to your OB/GYN about it and/or google painful episiotomy scar. Good luck, I hope you heal soon.

You really need to go see the doctor. It might be nothing serious, but it's always better to be on the safe side. An infection could be very dangerous, so you would need to get it taken care of right away. Good luck.

My son will be 15 months on the 19th and I tore bad, doctor did not do episiotomy, but she said she should have after the fact cuz I tore so bad! He was 9lbs. 14oz. and that hurt! Not to mention his linebacker shoulders. I have not gotten my period yet because I am still nursing, but I do get that sore feeling a lot. No sharp pains, just soreness and most pain comes after sex. My doctor told me that my vagina walls are very thin still because I am nursing - are you nursing still or did you? My scar hurts too, but I have noticed it getting better. I would definitely ask your doc about it and see what he/she says. Good luck!
