**Help!!!** I Want My Pre-pregnancy Figure Back.

I'm basically frustrated with my weight & tummy. I had a c-section last December & ever since then I just haven't been right. After giving birth, I lost all of my baby weight but still had the loose stomach. Since giving birth I've had problems with ovarian cysts & was on a great deal of medicine. Now those problems have seemed to resolved but I'm 15 pounds heavier. I just need to know if anyone else has gone through anything similiar. I feel like my body has completely changed. I need some suggestions on exercise routines to get back into shape (something that is relatively easy to do with a child or at night when she's asleep).

What can I do next?

First, you body does change after a baby--it just happens. Things move and redistribute boobs grow or shrink as do feet.Your skin stretches--a lot around your belly and most of the time-that leaves some extra skin. Are some women pre-disposition to still look the same--sure, but this isn't the norm. So don't beat yourself up over it--you had a baby!!
I started going to weight watchers to get my final baby weight off and it helped tremendously--I find that if I start exercising without getting my eating under control, then I just eat more to compensate for the exercising.
Look into Pilates and Yoga though to strengthen and tone your core muscles--which seem to be what your major concern. There are many DVDs out there but look for the yoga ones for weight loss because they will concentrate on keeping your heart rate up and burning fat.

Oh I hear ya!!!…but I am a few pounds lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight and I also had a c-section and my stomach is also not the same anymore. Now at the same time I am a pant size bigger than I was before my DS. I don’t know where or how my body proportioned the weight but it is so disheartening, so I really understand where you are at. I have been roller bladeing a couple of times a week and I do see a difference in my thighs and hips…but my tummy/waist is still the same. But hey it is fun for me and it is great to take my DS he loves it! I’m sure this doesn’t help but I just wanted you to know you are not alone…

Hi I.,
I feel your pain. After I had my son, i was in great shape. But after my daughter, that is a completely different matter. I swear there is something about girls that makes you hang onto fat and flab.
I have found yoga and pilates to be very helpful, but only if you do them consistently and correctly. So find qualified instructors.
Good luck,'
S.

Maybe the medication you are taking is making you gain weight. I lost all of my pregnancy weight with each child (I have 3). With each pregnancy, it took time but it came off and all within 6 months after giving birth to each child. I found a website (www.beachbody.com) and they have awesome workout programs. I am using the 10 minute trainer AND the Power 90 Master series 6 days a week. I've been working out for over a year now and I love my results. I don't "diet" but I watch what I eat and eat in moderation when it comes to the "bad foods." I am very health conscious and feel so much better about myself since beginning working out. Seeing results is so beneficial to one's self esteem. As for the loose tummy, I've had 3 c-sections and you will have loose tummy skin. Toning with abdominal exercises will make a difference but everyone is different...your results may differ than mine or someone elses. I bought a DVD from EBay from the P90X series and it has the AB ripper X on it. I use that DVD every other day and my tummy is toned...but not like it was pre-pregnancy.

I just had a baby in june. and i'm back in the pre-preggo jeans. what has put me over the top is excercise and a treatment called micro-current. what this is, is a treatment that sends micro-current through the body that helps lift and tighten the muscles. call ###-###-#### and speak with Charlotte at Artistic Aethetic. Its what I did and what I do.
I hope this helps.

Hi I.!

I'm S. and I'm an aerobics instructor. I have 2 kids and I'm back at my original "pre-babies" weight. There are NO secret and NO quick fixes. Eat moderatley and exercise regularly. No need for extreme measures. Be consistent and the weight will go away AND stay away.
Listen, I have a stroller fitness class for mom and baby.
Come take a free class. If you like it, come back, no pressure. It's only 10 bucks a class and I promise you will see results. Check my ad and reviews on mamasource: Little Booties Boot Camp.
I just lost 8 pounds myself! If you want, we can do a one-on-one, I charge the same fee. Outside, in fresh air, where baby is content.
Take care and good luck,
S.

Check out Baby Bootcamp - Just google it and you can find a location near you. My friend Geneveve runs the one here in Gardens. It's a great way to work out with your baby. She had a c-section back in December (I think) too, and she looks amazing. She could help you get back in shape. Good luck!

I'm with you!! I just recently started running and in the past week I've lost 5 pounds! I run 30 minutes 5 days a week and do a little weight training, nothing major, but muscle does burn fat! Also I've cut back on my fat. I used to be so concerned with calories, but now that I'm cutting back on my fat I'm actually notincing a difference!

It's not really about the number on the scale. It's about the form your body is in. So much changes with pregnancy that it takes a while to get it back. Some women never do. Try to accept yourself as you are and work out to gain strength and feel better and eventually, it will get better.
I've had 4. Two c-section and two VBAC's. I just had a hysterectomy in October. So I've got two abdominal scars at the bottom and my belly is still pretty swollen. I've lost all the "baby weight" and the number is lower than before my last pregnancy. But the positioning is off still.
You need to alternate the kind of work-outs you do. Agility, (moving in different directions; dancing; aerobics, etc.) Balance (yoga) and Strength (free weights; resistance bands, etc.) Things may come back into great shape for you. But you may have extra skin there that won't go away regardless of how much exercise you do. Focus on fitness instead of appearrance and it'll help you mentally stress less over it. Stress accumulates in the belly area for most women.
Plus, most men don't give a darn about a little extra weight. My husband is still very attracted to me just the way I am. I'm sure yours is too. Confidence works wonders!
