My daughter tipped over a bucket of red semi-gloss paint on my carpet. Has anyone had any success getting paint out of carpeting? Any suggestions on what to try to remove it???

What can I do next?

You can try spot shot. It's in a blue can with orange lettering and orange top. I would completely soak the area and use a dry clean cloth to blot the area. This will get up most of the stain, then you might have to rent a steam cleaner to get the rest out. How old is your carpet? There might be a way to cut out the spot and patch it with the same color carpet. If none of this works call Coit cleaners or get an area rug to cover the area.

We had this happen too with Green paint. My husband took an old rag that was clean, but we new we could destroy. Then he took our Iron and placed the rag on top of the paint and then the iron on the rag and steamed it out. It helped drastically! You might have some left b/c it is red color, but hopefully it should help with the bulk of it. We have used the iron method on several other stains and had success as well. Good luck!

Wow that's a tough one...I don't think there's anything that will remove the paint. What I suggest is calling your Homeowner's Insurance Agent to see if that type of loss is covered. You might be surprised to find that the insurance might pay to replace or repair the carpet. Good luck! :-)

My son did that as we were getting our house ready to sell. He dumped white paint all over our tan carpet. As soon as it happened we dumped about 20 buckets of water on it and used rags to soak up what we could. Then we went and rented a rug doctor and clean the carpet. When we were done you couldn't even tell where it was spilled. Hope this helps.
