Sorry for the late answer but I use Cook Childrens and it is great. Just had to rush my Grand daughter to the Cook Childrens ER and everything was covered. All her doctors are on the plan.

Do you already have a doctor? My pediatrician is not in the book but he does take Amerigroup and none of the others. Look through the book for primary care providers and pick the one you want and choose that plan. I have only ever used Amerigroup.

Absolutely no choice! You need to go with Cook Children's. It is the only plan that willl have all doctors that are especially for children. I worked at the hospital and had a son who was a life long patient and I can never say enough good things about them. It is wonderful all around!!

The first thing you need to look into is which plans your physician accepts. If your physician accepts all three than any would be a good choice. I have personally worked with Amerigroup and Cook Children from the provider side and both were easy to work with when it comes to get procedures approved. Amerigroup has been around longer than Cook Children. I have never worked with Aetna. It must have started after I left work to stay home with my son. The coverage is about the same with the Medicaid plans. The big difference is who accepts the plans. Good luck with the choice.

Ask their doctor's office what they accept (if any). If your normal doctor does not accept medicaid ask for a referral to an office that might. Naming your previous physician as a referral might get you an in as a new patient rather than calling the long and inaccurate list of names medicaid supplies. Most offices will only accept one type of medicaid.

My son has Aetna Medicaid and his doctor is in the Cook Children's Hurst facility. He was diagnosed with RSV when he was 5 weeks old and we needed a home nebulizer to do breathing treatments every 4 hours and we had no problem with it being covered! I HIGHLY recommend Aetna!
