My daughter used a coffee can to painted and decorate. The Headbands are placed over the sides. It works great.
I have 2 girls & the headbands are taking over. I am looking for some helpful organization suggestions on how to store &/or display various headbands so they are easily accessible. Any ideas?

Hi J.,
It's funny that you just asked about this because I just had the same problem. I ordered one of those jewelry organizers that hangs on the back of a door or in a closet it is two sided and has 60 pockets. I put all of my daughter's hair accessories in the pockets and organized them by color. The pockets are clear so you can see them. I put the matching pony tail holders together so that when she wants pig tails I'm not looking all over for the matching piece. However the pockets are too small for the hard head bands. So I bought a small clear plastic container for the hard head bands and accessories to big for the pockets. It has a few larger pockets at the bottom and I used it for specialty items such has holiday bows etc... I ordered mine from lillianvernon.com look under the organization tab. I have it hanging on the back of the bathroom door that I usually fix her hair in. It has helped tremendously and has cleared the clutter out of my bathroom drawer. I don't remember how much it was but I'm guessing around $20. Sometimes Bed, Bath and Beyond sells these types of things but for me with 3 kids 8, 6 & 4 luckily only one girl it is just easier for me to order online and have it delivered. Good Luck and I hope this helps----J. C
When I was a little girl, I had similar issues. My mom "helped" me see that it was a problem, and she helped me with a craft that solved it.
We went to a Goodwill and got a few items: two wall hooks, a macrame plant holder, and some ribbon. Then we went home, hung the wall hooks about two feet apart from each other, strung the macrame plant holder between them (I cut off all the extra parts), decorated it with ribbon, and hung all my own headbands. I was so proud, and it really kept me organized.
We have a plastic oval basket that my dd uses. She can put things in the center like her brush and tangle spray and the headbands go over the side all the way around.
How about taking a large oatmeal container and wrapping it in pretty contact paper.
I have 4 daughters, and I use those plastice shoe boxes with lids. It's easy, but they all know the hair stuff goes there. Hope that helps.
I make boutique hair accessories for little girls. I display them all on roll pillows. It keeps them nicely organized and easily displayed.
Hope this helps!
Look for a tie organizer. They have round ones the are just a cirle, with a hanger attached. The head bands can slip around the circle and can be easily taken off. Also a necklace organizer would work too. You can find those at walmart/target/claires.
How about one of those tie organizers that you see for men's closets? You could attach something like a shower curtain ring to each "arm" so that you can take the headbands on and off with ease. I don't know how MANY headbands you are talking about...if there are TONS of them...maybe you could simply use ziploc bags and separate them by color and store them that way in a dresser drawer.
Good luck...this is just the beginning of the girls "stuff" taking over the house!!! lol

you can look at http://www.ribbonhairbow.com
my daughter has a mirror on her dresser and we hung them over the mirror. You could also get those shelves with a pole under them and hang them on the pole. I don't have any other suggestions. When my daughter was wearing hair bows, I hung up a long ribbon on the wall and clipped the hair bows on the ribbon so they wouldn't get smashed and made a nice decoration as well with all the pretty bows hanging up on the wall. She had a lot of bows and had 2 rows of ribbon full of them.
