Hello, just completed my first cycle of IVF. I had my first beta hcg test 14days post embryo transfer two days ago. My results were positive at 313. Very very excited. I went in two days later(today) to see if my levels doubled. They did increase to 570 but did not quite double. I'm reaalllly nervous now we have been trying to conceive for three years. Any input please?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well we are Officially pregnant! My last beta was five days ago of 999. Today we had our first ultrasound, was able to see the sak and yolk. We go back in seven days for another ultrasound, hopefully will see a heartbeat. As of today I am five week and four days along. This is a dream come true three long years in the making. I have seen Everyone around me get pregnant cant believe it's finally my turn. We are so happy and hope that everything keeps moving along as should. Thanks so much to all for support. For any of you out there ttc and running out of hope...hang in there keep trying, miracles do happen. Buckets of baby dust to all!

I believe that as long as they go up by 66% in 48 hours things are headed in the right direction. You can always request to be retested on Friday and see how your numbers are then. IVF doctors and their staff are usually very accommodating since insurance is hardly ever accepted. You can also just insist on a retest on Friday to give you peace of mind. It looks like they will want to look for a sac on Monday or Tuesday and I'm sure that feels like an eternity so maybe Friday's test will give you some reassurance. It does seem to me, though, that you have some really good strong numbers so I think all will turn out fine. Good luck and keep us posted. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

I really don't think you have any worries. I have done IVF 9 times with 3 pregnancies. Your numbers are so high to begin with that doubling isn't an issue. It increased and quite a bit so I would relax. Not sure how many you transferred but with those numbers I would be concerned with twins or triplets. I had twins and my numbers weren't that high to begin with. I was lucky to be between 50 and 100. Relax and enjoy!!! Congrats....best of luck to you.

I agree with other posts - they don't need to exactly double. You are on the right path! I am sorry you have had such a hard time - there are few things as heartbreaking as this process - but the joy - oh the joy when it all works out. And it will for you!

I am thankful I have not had to be in your position, it must be very difficult. But I would be very hopeful if I were you. The general guideline is to double every 48-72 hrs, yours increased quite a bit, it looks to be on the right track! I understand that it hard to relax at this point, and probably scary to be hopeful. But try to surround yourself with positiveness (if that is a real word) this week/weekend and maybe pamper yourself a little bit. I wish you the best of luck!

Do not worry about it. They saw that the legels are supose to double about every two to three days. You are almost doubble. I had a few days where mine did not double and I have a healthy 14 month old little girl.
