Yes I totally have that too!! I had no idea you could have it removed. Please let me know how it goes!
Hi...
So i'm having a little procedure done tomorrow, and was wondering if anyone ever had it done also... When i got pregnant with my first, 5 years ago, some of the breast tissue (my boobs were HUGE!!!) went under my arm... looks like a giant lump in my armpit... anyway, after breastfeeding, i figured it would go away, which it didnt... once i had my second, it got bigger, and tomorrow, i'm REMOVING IT!!! its ugly, uncomfortable, and even when i get my period, it swells up... Anyone had that??? anyone remove it??? how does it look and feel now???

I had a professional bra fitting at a specialty shop and one of the things I learned is that most women wear the wrong size of bra (most of us have heard that part) because they do not put all their breast tissue into the bra. You need to scoop all of it from the pit area into the cup as well. When I found this out and got into my true size, I was TWO cup sizes bigger than I thought I was!
When having a mammogram, the technician also said that there is breast tissue that runs under the arms and made sure that it was brought forward into the machine to be examined.
So in answer to your title, yes we have ALL have breast tissue under the arm. For ladies that don't "count" this, it is extra. For women that have breasts they consider "too big" for their comfort, it is extra. I don't consider it as "EXTRA" that needs to be removed; rather it is "BONUS!" I get to have! Removing it would probably be like any other BREAST-REDUCTION surgery. It can be a painful experience (according to a friend that has had this done).
I did. It was swollen breast tissue. Comes up about the same time as you said. My doc recommending not removing it though if it's not cancerous. What procedure are you going to use to remove it. Just curious.
I don't, but my mom did. She had breast reduction surgery about 12 years ago and she was cut all the way around except for about 8 inches across her back. The doctor said she had breast tissue that far under her arms and even into her back.
She swears that other than marrying my dad and having me, the reduction was the best thing she's ever done.
Yes. I thought I had a lump, had an US for it and was told that it is extra breast tissue in my axilla and it cannot be removed in my case because it is ingrown with my nerves and blood vessels. I noticed however that after I lost 20 lb the lump had shrunk! It was one more motivation for me to lose weight. Now it is not visible and I can only feel it sometimes, so I keep trying to loose more weight.
Good luck with the remouval, my doc said that it is usualy the way to go, just not in my case.
