Has Anybody Used Dr. Gober in Colleyville (Pediatric Dentist)?

Hi moms!

I live in the Grapevine area and I need to get my daughter to the dentist. Has anybody ever used Dr. Gober and was the experience good? Do you have recommendations for anyone else? (I would love to go to either Dr. Davis or Dr. Armstrong in Southlake but neither of them take our dental insurance.) Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

My business partner knows of him personally and also trains his wife. They are great people and very honest. I have never heard anything bad about his practice.

We used Dr. Gober and loved HIM. Did not have a good experience with his partners. I would recommend Dr. Gober 1000% as long as you get to see him. His partners may have changed in the last few years, so I may be way off. Dr. Gober is the best ped. dentist we have ever had. 5 Star rating.

We live in Hurst and the first dentist we went to was in Coppell. We wanted to try someone closer to home and went to Dr. Gober every 6 months for check-ups for 3 or 4 times. He has a revolving door of fresh dental school grads, so we never saw the same dentist 2x. We also NEVER set eyes on Dr. Gober! We didn't like this, so we went back to our original dentist and she found a cavity our son ended up having a root canal for! I personally believe Dr. Gober's practice didn't pick up on the tooth decay when it started, because who needs a root canal if they're getting 6 month check-ups?? I could be wrong, but that's what I believe.

We're going to give Dr. Kathleen Pace a try for our next check-up (October). She was recommended by our orthodontist, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we like her...I'm tired of driving to Coppell.

We've been going there for 3 years, my daughter is 6 now. We only saw Dr. Gober the 1st time and he was really nice. All the other times we've seen a female dentist who is very nice and professional. My daughter loves going there. Everything is scaled down and child friendly. They use smelly gloves which they blow up into a balloon to give them, and they use fun flavored flouride that your child gets to pick the flavor which they like. They also use child terms like brush your teeth so you don't get sugar bugs. And of course the prize wall is always a winner. We'll continue to go there as long as we can.

We haven't used Dr. Gober, but we went to Dr. Preece in Keller for an emergency visit with my daughter. He was great and their office is wonderful. I would recommend checking him out. I think they take most insurances.

Hi J., like the other responses, we too use Dr. Gober but have never "seen" him. Only younger, female doctors. But our experiences have always been good. Not too long of a wait time and it's close to our home.

Hi, J.! My family's experience has been that he's great, which has actualy led to our irritation with him. For the last several years, neither of my girls have gotten to see him. They don't tell you when you schedule an appointment, but he hires newer, less experienced dentists, whom we wind up seeing. We've even requested to see him, but to no avail. The message this sends to us is that he's too busy to see his regular patients anymore and is just able to treat special cases. He's a very nice guy, but since my girls are no longer able to be seen by him, we're changing dentists. I've heard nothing but good things about Dr. Jody Cremer in Hurst. He's in the same building as Cook Children's Physicians Network on Mid-Cities Blvd. I hope this is helpful.

Hi, my name is L. and I represent a company will offers up to 80% discount on dental svcs. There is no waiting period..the plan accepts pre-existing, no age limit, no contract and the plan is 100% guaranteed. The cost at this time for the plan is $9.98 for family..the rate will go back to regular of $19.95 after 9/14/09. There are several dentists on the network plan in Grapevine and you can check out the information by visiting www.mybenefitsplus.com/laurarodriguez.

Just thought I'd share the alternative. Please let me know if I can answer any questions for you.

Thanks for your time and good luck finding a dentist for your baby girl!

We've used him the last couple years. I haven't had any problems with the office. Everyone has been quite friendly and efficient. They are good about scheduling both kids at the same time too so I can stand between the two beds. I am not sure I've ever seen Dr. Gober. It's usually a really young girl who is very pretty but looks about 12! My son thinks she's really pretty and gets tongue tied around her. She is super sweet and I really like her. She just makes me feel very old! :)

We've used Dr. Gober since my oldest (now 22) was 7 or 8 years old I believe. He's a GREAT dentist. Unfortunately, I think he's semi-retired now. I've seen him in the office, but he only sees "certain" patients and he has other dentists in the office who see all the rest. It feels more like an assembly line now than it did when he was building his practice. At least that's how it feels to me. I think the dentists he has working with him are probably very capable, it's just that we have never gotten the same one with our two younger children (now 10 and almost 5) so It's not as personal as it was when our oldest went there. We continue using them, though, since they are very close to us and are on our insurance.

Blessings,
N.

I have been taking my daughter there for 3 years. She is almost 6 now. They have been very nice and good with her. This last time I took her was actually the frist time Dr. Gober actually was the dentist that saw her - the rest of the times if was a female dentist. HE was very personable and good with my daughter. I would recommend them. The only thing I don't like is I think they could spruce up their office a little - it is looking a little run down.
