We just got back from the pediatric dentist who told me my 3 year old (he will be 4 in a month) has NINE cavities on his upper and lower back molars! I am in complete shock! We were just there 6 months ago and everything was fine. This was the first time he had x-rays, so the dentist said the cavities could have been there before. Needless to say, I would like a second opinion and am looking for a recommendation near the Keller/ Southlake/Grapevine area. I believe that we take excellent care of my son's teeth and I myself did not get my first cavity until just a year ago at age 33. My son does grind his teeth at night which I was told may contribute to cavity formation. Also, he was on acid reflux medicine (prevacid) for the first 3 years of his life, but I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with it??? Anyway, I don't know a lot about cavities? Is it even common for an almost 4 year old to have that many cavities? If you can give me a good recommedation of a dentist you really trust, I would greatly appreciate it!

Dental Care 4 Kids in Flower Mound. Either Dr. Wickersham or De, Gonzales - they are husband and wife. I've never seen them recommend treatment that wasn't really needed. They are both great and so is their staff.

We use Dr Armstrong in Southlake and my kids love her!! She has been right on track with my older daughter needing braces, she refered up to an good ortho guy and we are rocking along. My youngest need 3 cavities filled with her and she did great. Their staff is so good to the kids. I would trust anyone else. Good luck
We just went to Dr McAnthony when our family dentist found 4 cavities. her approach was a more "monitor" for now. She was very nice. I am curious who you saw. It seems like different dentist have different philosophies on when to fill.

Dr Lantzy in Roanoke. He is truly great!!!! He was referred to me by another friend and I take both my kiddos there ages 5 and 2!
We go to Next Century Dental on 377 and cannot say enough great things about them. All their equipment is state of the art. I was able to watch the procedures on a computer monitor if I wanted. They have a pediatric area in the office and the staff was so kind and knowledgeable. I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a dentist.
Call Healthy Smiles for Kids Dentistry in Colleyville. Dr. Gober and his staff are terrific. I had a HORRIBLE experience with a very prominent female pediatric dentist in Southlake and switched to Dr. Gober. He believes in SAVING teeth (rather than pulling them, as she did!) and my kids were very happy there. Their number is ###-###-####.
Dr. G. Stan Preece. My children have been seeing him in the Fort Worth office for years. He has a beautiful Keller office and his staff and associates are amazing.
I don't have a recommendation, but commend you for looking for a second opinion. Over the years, I have found that the quality of a dentist is the HARDEST to confirm. Once the "cavities" are filled, who is to verify that they were ever there? Good luck.
When we moved here 7 years ago, I asked around and everyone I knew was going to Dr. Christopher Davis in Southlake Town Center. We still love him after 7 years. In fact, my oldest has had one cavity over the years and just had a baby tooth pulled (for braces) and each time, he hasn't even remembered or felt the novocaine shots and has had very little or no discomfort afterward. When my youngest was 2 1/2 I had to take him in for tartar buildup and they were so gentle that he never even whimpered. BTW, I still run into people there that I know... it seems like nearly everyone goes there.
Dr. Sandra Armstrong she's located in Southlake across from Anamia's Mexcian Restaurant off 1709 near 114. I wouldn't trust anyone else.
I have heard that acid reflux can be the cause of cavities but 9 does seem like a lot. Good luck!
I've been taking my kids to Just for Kids in Keller. Dr.s Hoffman and Shah are amazing and their entire staff are so great with the kids. Their new office is a movie lovers dream. Drs. Hyde, Bailey and Cremer ###-###-#### are tops in our book. They are at the Cook Childrens building on Precinct in Hurst. We have seen Dr. Cremer for at least 5 yrs every 6 months, love him. Good luck!
